Woo, bought my Nokia 7210 from M1 Shop at Paragon, cost $578, but trade-in my Nokia 8310, minus $200, so I pay only $378. Hehe =) Nokia 7210 is cool, so far no bugs encountered except on how to establish a connection to my PC. I got an error “IrSocketAPI error(0×80043205, NokiaCL.ServiceLayer)” whenever I try to select my Nokia 7210 after my WinXP has detected it. Weird error, I don’t think there is any problem with my PC or phone, I think it is Nokia PC Suite 5.0 problem. Hmm, has emailed Nokia Care about it, hope they can reply me asap. Can’t wait to upload some MIDI ringtones and graphics to my phone.

Came back at about 1.30pm, studied DEUI with breaks in between until dinner time with is about 7pm, mom cooked. Tomorrow will be a study day for me, will spend the whole day studying DEUI, as that is my first exams on 22nd October 2002. =)

School is over for me, but I still got another 2 more weeks till my exams is over.

Has anyone managed to solve this nokia error yet? I’m getting the same problem with my 6100 — looks like Nokia could do with posting an answer to this on their website!

Problem solved, after a few emails back and forth with Nokia, they identified the problem as being the infrared connection speed. I’ll paste below their reply, although I actually found these settings in the Manage/Device Manager:
———————————————————————————————————————
It maybe worthwhile changing the infrared connection speed on the PC as
well. This can be done by doing the following:

1. Go to control Panel.
2. Got to system.
3. Choose the infrared port, and select the little cross next to the ir
port.
4. This will bring up the details of your ir port.
5. You will have 4 different tabs: General, Advanced, Driver, Resources.
6. Click on Advanced.
7. Select, speed limit, and choose the speed 38400, 38.4bps.
8. Click on OK.

It may also be that the infrared connection method hasn’t been registered
correctly. If this is the case I would advise actually giving ourselves a
call directly on 08700 555 777, where we will try to assist further.

Hi guys,
I have the same error message; at first I thought I had done something wrong. I can’t even synch my laptop with another laptop, and the “Wireless Link” icon is missing from Control Panel. Sound Familiar?
Anyone have an update?

Got the same problem with MY 7210, the wierd thing is that my girlfriends phone is the exact same model, and hers works fine on the same P.C. What happens in connection manager? Does it come up with the error when you click APPLY? (My problem is Win98SE based). Send Nokia the url to this forum. Might get something done.

I am convinced this is not a problem with the P.C. I just replaced my 7210 with a 6100, used the same software… It worked just fine! I believe it’s a fault with the sowftware version on the phones.
