Alongside with the release of WordPress 2.1 today, I have updated the following plugins for WordPress 2.1. Most of them will work for WordPress 2.1 only and it will break if you use it for WordPress 2.0.x. If you need any plugin for WordPress 2.0.x for some reasons, the download link is included in that plugin’s readme.html. I have also release 1 new plugin called WP-ServerInfo, it will display your host’s server PHP and MYSQL information (integrated into WordPress Admin Style) on your WordPress dashboard.

Ignore the ‘Update’ date in the plugin’s readme.html because I will not be updating the version number for bugs found and fixed before 1st February 2007, I will just update the zip file.
EDIT: I just updated WP-Print to 2.10, I have added in the feature that was always in my head.
EDIT 2: I just updated WP-WAP to 2.10.
GaMerZ, the feature to select the different icons? Isn’t that the code I made?
not really, but the idea was, lol i am using the polls/ratings code. =D
Yeah, the idea is what I meant.
Thank you SO much for the wp-ban plugin!!!!!
WP-Ban is cool, yes. What does it mean though when I get an “unknown” as IP in the Stats table?
Also is there a way to make AKismet and Wp-Ban work together? i.e. feed WP-Ban with IPs marked as spam from AKismet 8as described on my blog)?
Cheers!
Unknown means the network is unable to resolve or determine the IP within the time limit specified by PHP. It is quite common.
Not at the moment, but getting IP that is marked spam and adding it to the ban list should be easy.
Thanks for the info! One more thing, I have 2 IPs on my ban list that still are able to leave spam comments (filtered by AKismet) after I added them to the Ban List, what could be the reason?
are they on the same IP? what about try banning them by hostname?
yes, the IPs were an exact match, I did not try the host name yet.
if that is the case, I am still figuring out how come this work, is the spam via trackback/pingback?
So it happened again today:
Banned IP:
203.144.160.*
Today I found a spam in AKismet’s Queue from IP 203.144.160.246 which should be banned, right?
here’s the spam comment:
yea, what if you try the exact IP and BTW, it maybe trackback spam not comment spend. The difference is that trackback spam can be send without going to your site.
Exact IP Ban… same thing, I guess you are right, must be trackback spam eh? Well, trackback will be switched off then!
because this blog used to have alot of spam, at first I thought is comment spam, so i disable comment posting after 30 days, but there are still so much spam, after sometime I realize it is trackback spam and I disable trackback after 30 days and it works
I just use Akismet. ![]()
Where’s the plugin updates for Febuary GaMerZ?
LOL
lol, not so fast, next updated will maybe during my 1 week break in end feb if I have the time
Oh…
Ideally, if it is that simple to feed WPBAN with the IPs from Akismet I’d love to see a next version of WPBan storing IPs more in a table format, sortable and with the option to automatically feed WPBan with IPs from AKismet Spam plus the options to Ban X.X.*.* or X.X.X.* depending on the number of Spam comments originating from the specific IP ranges, eg.
If more than X spam attempts originate from IP range 72.232.*.* then Ban 72.232.*.*, where X is user definable and default 10.
Right now I am manually copy pasting IPs from AKismet to WPBan, I guess I should also add them to the .htaccess
This could be another option for a next version, export Banned IPs to .htaccess.
just wanted to let you know that you’ve done a great job updating the theme related template for the WP-EMAIL 2.10. it took a lot of time modifying each time i upgraded to the new updates in the past, but now it works with my theme with no tweaking what so ever. good work!
thanks for the compliments =)
