It is 1st June 2007 over my side (GMT+8) while the rest of the world may still be at 31st May 2007. I am proud to present to you my 12 updated plugins out of a total of 14 plugins. Most of them are just bugs fixes and some new minor features here and there. The plugins that changes the most are WP-Polls, WP-PageNavi, WP-Ban, WP-DBManager and of course WP-Sticky is now 1.00 instead of 1.00 beta 2.

WP-Polls now feature multiple options, future poll scheduling, poll data log mining and some parts of the admin backend are now AJAXed.

WP-PageNavi has been revamp in terms of looks and options as you can see at the bottom of this page, it features digg style design navigation with the use of style sheet and now almost all the options can be set in œWP-Admin -> Options -> PageNavi.

I have added some new features in WP-Ban, like banned by referrers url, banned by specific IP range, exclude a specific IP from being banned and the ability to preview banned message.

I have added scheduler to WP-DBManager, the ability to optimize, backup, backup and email the database dump file after X number of days/weeks/months. I have also added a Repair Database feature.

In order not to cluttered the already narrow layout of this site, please check out the below url for more information (oh ya you can digg it too)

GaMerZ, I would have been more than happy to post in the forums but had no idea they existed. The link that was on plugins screen in WordPress after loading the plugin for Email linked to here: http://www.lesterchan.net/portfolio/programming.php. That’s where I went. I clicked each of the links for the plugin. Since you want help requests posted in the forums you may want to consider adding the forums link with the download | demo | development | documentation links. Just an idea.

That said, I have already posted the error messages that were on the screen (at that time) and you have seen the request. I see no need to reload the plugin to retype what was once typed in a forum that requires registration since you’ve already seen the request. At this point, you can either decide to make the plugin work with wpPHPMailer or not. I hope that you do.

As for the plugins, I sincerely thank you for your efforts. You’ve done well with them and they are quite useful.

Veg: Thanks for the feedback, I will add it in when this site new layout which is in the works.

Regarding the wpPHPMailer issue, my plugin came before this plugin and hence I did not make use of it because phpmailer is already in the package itself. And it seems that wpPHPMailer is not being updated since 2005. Since WP 2.2, WP is already using PHPMailer to send out emails.

You have a very valid point in that the PHPMailer plugin is quite old so I can’t fault you there if you choose not to include it as an option. Perhaps, this will give me the opportunity and reason to tackle this problem once again. I believe I remember a PHP plugin that will allow me to better input SMTP information (with mail account and password) since that was my issue if I remember correctly. You couldn’t, to my knowledge, input that in the PHP.ini – just SMTP server and port. See, with the wpPHPMailer WordPress plugin I was able to enter that info there. Quite honestly, it’s a shame that it hasn’t been updated or “pimped” as it still works. But, to be fair to you, for how long is an issue for a plugin that appears to be unsupported.

Thanks again for your time and congratulations on a nice stable of plugins. I will certainly pass them on to blogger friends.

Veg: wp-email will allow you to input your smtp username and password. With a little modification to class-phpmailer.php in your wp-includes file, you can input your smtp info there.

Hi

I need some tweaking done to a wordpress theme – basically incorporating Google’s CSE into an existing search box while keeping the original design and some javascript troubleshooting.

Do you accept such small jobs? If you do, please email me to discuss fees and such.

thks

it is not possible to have google CSE results page the same as your theme, but incoporating google CSE into your theme should not be a problem.
