@ClappingTrees
On OpenID compounding the problem, yup, to an extent that'll happen too. I've already got 2 OpenIDs, so now I've just added them to my password manager along with the other 200 passwords I've got stored in there.

Plus, as GaMerZ pointed out, I can't use OpenID very often - though I think that'll change in a year or so.

Here's a post on our company blog that talks about some of this stuff.

@DK: i myself is guilty for 'password' and '123456' LOL
@ClappingTrees: openID is a good choice here, but it is not that widespread yet, hopefully it will take off and maybe forums will be using that =D

I guess users are almost always faced with a dilemma -- to make that password easy to remember and yet not easy to crack. With so many sites (especially with the emergence of Web 2.0) asking one to register and choose yet another set of username and password, the problem is compounded. During my workshops, some of my "students" would throw their hands up in despair when they learn that they need to register at yet another website. OpenId might alleviate or aggravate this problem, depending on how one might look at this.

My father's company email password was "password" for several years until I help him change to a not so easy to guess password.
