Singtel has release their iPhone 3GS prices, for consumers the URL to go to is https://www.singtelshop.com/iPhone3GS/ and for business users, the URL to go to is https://business.singtelshop.com/business/iphone/index.html. As expected, the prices are pretty much the same as iPhone 3G when it was launch, you can check it out in my blog post at Singtel iPhone Price Plans.
It seems that Singtel has just screwed iPhone 3G users by imposing a penalty of SGD$600 if you only fulfilled between 6 to 12 months of contract and SGD$300 if you fulfilled between 12 months and 21 months of contract! Singtel should not forget that majority of the users that will purchase iPhone 3G will most likely purchase iPhone 3GS!
*Update* For early iPhone 3G Users adopters who got the iPhone 3G during August 2008, instead of paying SGD$600, Singtel will give you 50% off and you will just have to pay SGD$300 for the penalty instead of the usual SGD$600. This promotion is only applicable during the launch period on the 10th, 11th and 12 July 2009. If you get on the 13th July 2009 onwards, you are back to paying SGD$600 for the penalty.. This promotion has been extended till the end of July 2009.
*Update* Updated on 15th December 2009, SingTel increases the data usage of iFlexi plans to 12GB and decreases the iPhone 3GS prices.

I guess this is how Singtel treats its loyal customers. I don’t understand why we are considered breaking a contract when what we only want is to upgrade to an improved handset. I have always been with Singtel since the pager era and now I really feel betrayed. Is Singtel really a cheapskate? Is the monthly subscription really not enough when I hardly use 100MB of data per month? From what I know, even a dog doesn’t bite the hands that feed it.
Any idea how much if wanna get a set without plan? Is that possible?
Zec: That is not possible. You can get it from Mobile Phone shops instead like Mobile Square – http://www.mobilesquare.com.sg/ when the iPhone 3GS is launched.
I got my iPhone 3G on the first day it was available in Singapore in August.
But I can’t the information about the 50% off for early adopters of the 3G who wants to upgrade to the 3G S! Where is this information from?…
By the way, to reserve a unit, i will need to put a $50 deposit in the Sintel Online Shop. If this is true, i will be getting the 3G S, But if the information is not correct, I am screwed and have to pay the full $600 penalty?
Can anyone verify the credibility of the 50% off penalty for early adopter info???
I can confirm that the penalty is SGD$300 (I communicated with Singtel) if you get the phone in August 2008. Do note the word IN and not AFTER. If you go to the Singtel Shop https://www.singtelshop.com/iPhone3GS/ and when you check out, you see the CI Charge is SGD$600 instead of SGD$300, call 1626, it should reflect SGD$300 as you bought your iPhone 3G in August 2008.
Do note that the promotion of SGD$300 is applicable only on the 10th, 11th and 12th of July 2009. If you get it on the 13th, it is back to SGD$600. You can walk-in to buy the iPhone 3GS if you want, there will be 2 separate queue
How to purchase 3GS in S’pore for use in M’sia? Set fully unlocked?
Appreciate any feedback.
Singtel Set is fully unlocked, the only way to get it is to sign a line with Singtel or get it at a mobile phone shop like http://www.mobilesquare.com.sg/ once it is released. I thought iPhone 3GS will be in Msia next week?
anyone has any idea on the additional promotions not shown online (beside the 30brownies off for accessories) for the launch event? I heard over the Singtel Iphone operator on telephone line that those who pre-ordered will receive addition discount for certain plans but ain’t too sure about it.
$100 bucks if you change to plan to iFlexi and $100 if you take on any BBOM plans
