Went over to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia over the weekend (Friday, 23rd March 2012 – Sunday, 25th March 2012) for my birthday celebration! Stayed at Piccolo Hotel located right in the heart of Bukit Bintang.

The location is fantastic, it is just in between Lot 10 Shopping Mall and Fahrenheit 88 and just 5 minutes walk from Pavilion. The price is pretty reasonable as well. Paid a total of MYR 566.08 (SGD$232) for 2 nights (SGD$116/night).

We took Jetstar there, paid a total of SGD$196 (return trip for 2) for the air tickets. We took the first flight out on Friday (7:05am) and the last flight back on Sunday (9:20pm). One thing I prefer Jetstar than AirAsia is that it lands in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) instead of Low Cost Carriage Terminal (LCCT) which is nearer and more convenient to the city.

Caught The Vow on the 2nd day and the movie is nice and touching and not forgetting it is based on a true story!

3rd day lunch was at Kim Gary! I always make it a point to go to Kim Gary when I am in Malaysia because the food taste the same at 1/2 the price when compared to Singapore!

I am Twenty Seven today! Damn, looks like now I can be classified under late twenties!

Li Xiang got me there when she ordered 2 cakes from Pine Garden to be delivered to my office. I was shocked when I received the cake. My colleagues even lighted up the candle and sing a short verse of the birthday song, making it even more embarrassing! Suddenly the whole office knew my birthday!

Had a simple Thai dinner with Li Xiang at Coffee Stars By Dao located at Wisma Atria. Food was good!

Celebrated Li Xiang’s birthday with a stay at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) on Friday. We book pretty early and chose the Rise & Shine Package which includes 1 night stay and breakfast at Rise Cafe for two. Paid SGD$389 (SGD$457.85 after tax).

It is pretty expensive but I say it is totally worth it! Considering we paid SGD$270 for our 6th anniversary stay at Scarlet Hotel which has nothing and the room is much smaller and lack any window view. I would say MBS is not too expensive.

We spend most of our time swimming and sunbathing at the Infinity Pool at the Sky Park. The Infinity Pool at night looks gorgeous as well but unfortunately we only went up to take pictures as we are heading to another location for dinner. I guess we will be back at MBS again for the night view at the Infinity Pool!

Dinner was at Nueva Cuba located at Customs House. I was at Nueva last week for a The Open Room: “Your Blog Here” session with Luca Penati organized by Ogilvy and was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks there. So I decided to recommend it to Li Xiang! While you are there, try the Grilled Sirloin Steak!

Celebrated my 26th Birthday at Resort World’s Chilli’s yesterday. It was my second time at Chilli’s, first time was at Tanglin Mall branch. Chilli’s food is fantastic but it is a bit pricey. Love the free flow of Tostada Chip for only SGD$6.90. The steak is very expensive, SGD$41.90, totally not worth it, don’t bother trying. But the Fajitas is very nice.
