Bought the Bluelounge The Sanctuary from EpiCentre at Ion Orchard for SGD$189 and after a 10% member’s discount it cost SGD$170.10. The first time I saw the The Sanctuary was back in December 2009 when I was in Hong Kong at city’super. It was the Dark Wood variant.

So far I have only saw The Sanctuary selling at EpiCentre at Ion Orchard, I have not seen other shops carrying it yet. I think there is at least 5 of them there when I got it last week. They only carry the Black variant.

The Sanctuary is an upgrade to Bluelounge Refresh. It is bigger and allows you to charge almost all types of mobile devices. I love it’s bigger surface area when compared to the Refresh as it allows me to place other things on it as well such as keys and wallet. I like how the inner tray comes with 2 surfaces, Faux Leather and Velvet. You can just flip over to either one to your liking.

However, I do have 2 complains on The Sanctuary, firstly there is only 1 USB port instead of 2 in the Refresh and hence you can only have 1 extra custom USB cable. Secondly, they should have 2 MicroUSB charging connectors instead of just 1 as these days most mobile phones are charged using MicroUSB port. On the other hand, the Refresh is meant more for Apple users as it includes 2 iPod connectors.

The Bluelounge CableBox is the first Bluelounge product that I bought. I bought it when I was in Hong Kong back in April 2011 for HKD$288 (~SGD$45.67) at city’super. Too bad they only have white color over there.

In Singapore you can find both the black and white color at Challenger (Funan) or at EpiCentre@Ion Orchard retailing for SGD$49.90 (Member’s Price: SGD$44.91).

Do note that at most you can only fit in a 5-Socket (3-Pin) Power Strip into this CableBox. I got a 6-Socket Power Strip and it is too long for the box. Too bad the CableBox does not come in a larger size. However, they do come in a smaller size, take a look at Bluelounge CableBox Mini.

I am just a huge fan of Bluelounge products. The Bluelounge Refresh is the first Bluelounge refresh that I came in contact with at EpiCentre@Ion Orchard. Too bad at that time, there is only pink color available and hence I got the Konnect SynCharger instead.

Fast forward 5 months later, the black color is back at EpiCentre@Ion Orchard and I just had to get it (there is also a white color available). It is retailing for SGD$139 (Member’s Price: SGD$125.10). I had pass down the Konnect SynCharger to my brother instead =p

Today is Li Xiang 25th birthday! This year is a little bit more relax for us as we manage to have the whole day to ourselves.

We had dinner at TWG Tea at Ion Orchard as Li Xiang always wanted to try the dessert and tea there.

The main courses there are a little on the pricey side. It ranges from SGD$27 to SGD$32 and there are like like 5 choices of main course available. Not forgetting the portion is kinda little. I would not recommend having any full meal there.

On the other hand, the tea and dessert there are pretty good. There are like hundreds of tea selection available which I really do not know how to start choosing. The price starts at SGD$10 per pot, a pot is enough for 2 persons. We ordered the Happy Birthday tea which fits today’s occasion. The Happy Birthday tea is a little fruity!

There are some cakes available but we did not order them. Instead we ordered a Carrousel which is basically a very large Macarons filled with Strawberries and their homemade cream. We also did ordered two ala carte Macarons at SGD$2 each. The Macarons at TWG is nice, it is not too sweet.

Total bill amounted to SGD$93.55 after 7% GST and 10% service charge!

We donated SGD$10 to the We Are One charity project at Ion and we are entitled to placed 5 Lego bricks!

Did not watch any movie today because Li Xiang will be having her end-semester FYP presentation tomorrow. Instead we will be watching 2012 this Saturday at midnight at GV Max!

City of Dreams is HP Digital Festival happening from 7th to 13th August 2009 at Ion Orchard Basement 4.

I attended the event with Li Xiang yesterday, thanks to Amelia from Waggener Edstrom for the invite. The event was a short and sweet event, these days I kinda like short event where it will not last more than 2 hours. I think I am getting old here. Talk to a few bloggers there and we realized we grew to a point that we are sick of typing so much stuff and instead post more pictures and let it do the talking.

There are 3 parts to this event, the first part was the prize presentation to the winners of the Lightropolis‘s design contest. Lightropolis is actually what you call the LED walls located at Ion Ochard near the Orchard MRT station. I thought it is some wall with some LED bulbs changing color and that is all. Didn’t know there there is actually a program which you can use to design the wall. Cool stuff.

The main highlight of the event was the mini designing competition where you have to design a wallpaper of what you visioned your City of Dreams will be. We are split into 3 teams (Li Xiang and I are on separate teams). We need to include the HP logo, the text “City of Dreams” and “The Computer Is Personal Again” into the wallpaper.

Our team chooses the best computer in the house! The HP Z800 Workstation! It is running on 12GB of DDR3 ram but it can support up to 192GB of ram! The monitor is a 30″ one, the HP LP3065 30-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor. I would like to have a 30″ monitor someday!

Li Xiang team is using the HP Z600 Workstation and the other team is using the HP Z400 Workstation. There is one computer workstation which nobody uses which is the HP xw4600 Workstation. I guess when we have the choice, we all settled for the best!

While waiting for the judges to tally the results from the designing competition, we are brought to the photo taking area to take photos with Ben 10. Seriously Ben 10 is so not my era, in fact I have no idea who is he and what he do. My era was Tom & Jerry!

Here is who Ben 10 is from Wikipedia:

Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, and their grandfather Maxwell start their summer camping trip. Ben goes stomping off into the woods after another fight with Gwen, whom he is not happy to have along on the trip, and finds an alien pod on the ground. After the photo taking session, the results are out, unfortunately both of our teams did not win. Maybe they should have a second and third prize as well and then we will all win lol.
