When I first got my iPhone 3G back in 2008, I searched high and low for the dock adapter for my universal dock. I could not find it on Apple Singapore Online Store or in any authorized Apple Reseller Shops.

I only got it a year after (in 2009) when I went to Taiwan for my graduate trip and I saw it selling in an authorized Apple Reseller Shop.

When I bought the iPhone 4, I was thinking how to get the dock adapter for the iPhone 4.

One day I was browsing iPhone 4′s accessories on Apple Singapore Online Store and to my surprise they are selling the Apple iPhone 4 Universal Dock Adapter for SGD$14 and of course, I immediately bought it.

Today, I received the adapters and out of curiosity, I did a search for iphone dock adapter in the store and it seems they are selling the iPhone 3G/3GS Universal Dock Adapter now as well.

Received my Apple iPhone 3GS / 3G USB Desktop Sync & Charge Cradle from MobileFun yesterday. It is a good alternative to the Apple iPhone 3G Dock (£22) and Apple Universal Dock (£36) because it cost only £9.99 and it works exactly the same.

Box Contents

It comes with the cradle, the MiniUSB to USB cable and the charger head.

Charger Head

Cradle – Front View

Cradle – Back View

You can either charge and sync your iPhone 3G/3Gs with the cradle by connecting the USB cable to your computer or just choose to charge your iPhone 3G/3GS by connecting the charger head to a power outlet.

Cradle With iPhone 3GS – Front View

There is a blue LED light on the right side of the cradle to indicate that there is power coming to the cradle.

Cradle With iPhone 3GS – Side View

As you can see, my iPhone 3GS fits perfectly into the cradle and I like the plastic backing because it is pretty high and give the iPhone a pretty good back support. That is important to me because sometimes I type on my iPhone while it is still docked in the cradle.

Most of the stuff on my table are black, my monitor, my television, my keyboard and even my mouse. The only white colored things around is my table itself and my Apple’s Universal Dock. This black cradle is perfect for all black iPhone users because it blends well with your black iPhone 3G/3GS and even the devices/gadgets on your table.

You can get the Apple iPhone 3GS / 3G USB Desktop Sync & Charge Cradle for £9.99 (including taxes but excluding shipping).

Before I start this tutorial, I would like to give full credits to crimsontwo from xSellize forums and joshua.menke from cocoaforge. I merely improve on crimsontwo’s work.

In the thread, Gmail + push on iPhone w/ Prowl on xSellize forums, crimsontwo gave instructions on how to run the Prowl python script on your iphone. The downside to it is that if your iPhone connection change from EDGE to 3G or 3G to Wifi or any vice versa, the script will be disconnected from Gmail. To solve this problem, he recommends you to upload the script to your own web server instead.

You need to have SSH access to your web server as well as Python installed in your web server which is not covered in this tutorial.

So here we go:

Get Prowl from App Store for USD$2.99

Register your Prowl account at http://prowl.weks.net/register.php

Once registered, click on Settings Tab

Under API key, click on Generate API Key Button and note copy down your generated API Key

Download the required files in a zip, called, Gmail With Push On iPhone Using Prowl

Using WinZip, extract the zip file which you have downloaded from Step 5

You should see a folder called gmail_and_prowl

Open the file main.py using NotePad or WordPad

You should see these lines on line 11 to 13:

prowl_apikey = “your_prowl_api_key”
IMAP_USERNAME = “your_gmail_username”
IMAP_PASSWORD = “your_gmail_password”

Replace the text your_prowl_api_key, your_gmail_username and your_gmail_password accordingly and save it

Using your FTP, upload the folder gmail_and_prowl to your home directory in your webserver

Login using SSH and browse to the path where you uploaded gmail_and_prowl, for example, /home/username/gmail_and_prowl/

Type this command:

nohup python main.py > /dev/null 2>&1 &

The PID of the process which is executing the script will be displayed. You may want to know that number down, just in case you need to kill the process.

You can now log out from the SSH and send a test email to your Gmail account

I was there last year at the Singtel iPhone 3G Launch queuing up for the iPhone 3G as a normal consumer. This year I was also there, but with a media pass. I was there pretty early at about 1.30pm because I have to go to Funan to run some errands. The media event started at about 3.30pm. We are brought around the Comcenter by Yuen Kuan Moon, the EVP of Consumer from Singtel. He explains to us the various part of the queue structure and how the customers will move about when queuing. Apart from that, Singtel announced a new service called Mio TV on Mobile. Customers can get to stream live tv stream from Channel 8, Channel News Asia, Bloomberg and a few others. It is not an iPhone App, but rather the streaming is done in Safari itself. It is pretty impressive as the quality is watchable and it doesn’t lag.

According to Kuan Moon, this year the response was much better than last year. He did not give an exact figure but he says in thousands. Last year the launch of iPhone 3G is basically register of interest and user still have to queue up. But this year, Singtel did a pre-order and require the customers to make a deposit of SGD$50 before queuing. There is also a separate queue for walk-in customers which closes at about 9pm due to the overwhelming response on the pre-order queue.

The event was not a midnight launch but rather only a 4 hour event from 8pm all the way to 12midnight. I have no idea whether they closes at 12midnight yesterday as from what I know at 9pm, the waiting time was 6 hours according to their website.

Similar to last year, the host this year was Glenn Ong from Class 95 as well. Mediacorp artists like Pierre Png, Joanna Peh, Felicia Chin was also there. Instead of the glass house which Singtel specially built for the iPhone 3G launch last year, this year they are using tentage. Also, there are tentage all over the queue area because some customers complained about being in the rain as last year when they are queuing up.

I used my Dad’s line and got my iPhone 3GS 32GB Black at SGD$678 on iFlexi Lite plan. I upgrade his Classic plan to iFlex Lite and got SGD$100 off, I got a SGD$120 Red Prestige voucher from my uncle and hence the iPhone 3GS price became SGD$678 – (SGD$100 + SGD$120) = SGD$458.

The only way to tell an iPhone 3G from iPhone 3GS is at the back. A1303 refers to iPhone 3GS and 32GB will definitely be a 3GS. Also the part the text it says iPhone is shiny for iPhone 3GS and white for iPhone 3G.

Singtel has release their iPhone 3GS prices, for consumers the URL to go to is https://www.singtelshop.com/iPhone3GS/ and for business users, the URL to go to is https://business.singtelshop.com/business/iphone/index.html. As expected, the prices are pretty much the same as iPhone 3G when it was launch, you can check it out in my blog post at Singtel iPhone Price Plans.

It seems that Singtel has just screwed iPhone 3G users by imposing a penalty of SGD$600 if you only fulfilled between 6 to 12 months of contract and SGD$300 if you fulfilled between 12 months and 21 months of contract! Singtel should not forget that majority of the users that will purchase iPhone 3G will most likely purchase iPhone 3GS!

*Update* For early iPhone 3G Users adopters who got the iPhone 3G during August 2008, instead of paying SGD$600, Singtel will give you 50% off and you will just have to pay SGD$300 for the penalty instead of the usual SGD$600. This promotion is only applicable during the launch period on the 10th, 11th and 12 July 2009. If you get on the 13th July 2009 onwards, you are back to paying SGD$600 for the penalty.. This promotion has been extended till the end of July 2009.

*Update* Updated on 15th December 2009, SingTel increases the data usage of iFlexi plans to 12GB and decreases the iPhone 3GS prices.

Apple announced the new iPhone 3G S, S stands for speed. Basically, everything is the same as the iPhone 3G including the looks.

Here are the changes as compared to the iPhone 3G:

Improved performance

Improved battery (though not much difference)

7.2Mbps HSDPA (iPhone 3G was 3.6Mbps)

Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (iPhone 3G was 2.0)

3-megapixel autofocus camera with macro mode and auto white balance

Video recording at 30fps VGA with on-device editing capability

Voice control that allows you to dial and control your music

Digital compass

Headphones include an inline remote for music control

3D graphics support in hardware

Nike + support built-in

Supports accessibility features, like zooming on text, inverting video, and voice over when you touch whatever text is on screen.

Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating screen

It will be available in Singapore by Singtel in July 2009. Just to let you know Singtel supports Internet Tethering as well as MMS for the iPhone OS 3. Seriously I think lots of Americans is hating AT&T right now because both Internet Tethering and MMS is not yet supported by AT&T.

iPhone OS 3 will be released on Wednesday, 17th June 2009 worldwide. With iPhone OS 3, I see no point in jailbreaking maybe besides the ability to change theme and SSH.

Keeping my fingers cross to see if Singtel allows last year iPhone 3G users to upgrade to iPhone 3G S.

Apple announces iPhone OS 3.0, the iPhone OS that was supposed to be in iPhone in the first place.

Here are some of the features we can expect in iPhone OS 3.0:

In-App Purchase

Peer to peer connectivity

Custom apps that talk directly to that hardware

Turn by turn navigation

Push notification

Cut, copy, and paste

Landscape mode for most core apps

MMS

Voice Memos

CalDAV calendar and .ics subscription support

Spotlight

Note Sync

Auto-fill

YouTube accounts

Stereo Bluetooth via A2DP

WiFi autologin

Tethering support

I think lots of paid jailbreak apps like SwirlyMMS and biteSMS might have to developed new apps. Say good bye to SwirlyMMS, biteSMS and QuickGold!

The iPhone OS 3.0 update will be available for free for iPhone and iPhone 3G users. MMS and Stereo Bluetooth will not be available for iPhone users due to hardware differences. For iPod Touch and iPod Touch 2nd Generation users, you will have to fork out USD$9.95 for it.

Last Wednesday, Apple Store (Singapore) had a special one-day shopping event and are offering discounts in their online store. The discounts for Apple products is quite pathetic, imagine only SGD$20 off for iPod Nano only. If you are intending to buy it long ago, SGD$20 is definitely better than nothing but it will not attract you to buy. However the discounts for 3rd party products/software are quite good. I bought the Belkin Auto Charger For iPod And iPhone for SGD$30 (including delivery). The usual price is SGD$37. It is about 19% discount. Bought it on Wednesday and it got delivered to me on Friday.

Sugih’s Wedding

Went to Jakarta, Indonesia over the weekend to attend a Sugih’s wedding, 1 day to be precise. My Valuair flight is on the 9th January 2009 at 1:35pm and the returning flight is on the 10th January 2009 at 3:20pm.

His wedding took place on the 9th February at 7pm at Hotel Mulia Senayan and it was a 5 stars diamond hotel which translate to 6 stars in Singapore. It was grand. We stayed at Somerset Service Apartment with 3 room which is around the area as there are 3 groups of us. Pei Jun & boyfriend, Meiyi and myself.

I kinda like weddings in Indonesia, they start on time at 7pm and end by 9.30pm, chop chop!

The next day Sugih brought us around town and show us the biggest shopping center, Grand Indonesia, in Southeast Asia. It takes about 30 minutes to cover 1 level without going into any shops! Unfortunately, due to our rush flight, we just briefly walked around.

Seems to me that Sugih is doing very well, driving a Mercedes CL55 AMG at the age of 24 while I am still studying!

Creative EP-630i Stereo Headset

On the way back, I got myself a Creative EP-630i Stereo Headset for my iPhone 3G at the duty free shop for SGD$73. The retail price is SGD$79. I was always skeptical about 3rd party headset on iPhone as I am afraid that the controls will not work on the music playback, but after checking it out in Hardware Zone’s forums, the control does works. Press the answer button 1 time to stop the song and 2 times to skip to the next track.

Let me repeat, Creative EP-630i Stereo Headset controls DOES WORKS on Music Playback as well.

Here is a tutorial on how to configure your iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch or iPod Touch (2nd Gen) to connect to NUS Wireless network. We will be using NUS WLAN SSID “NUS” instead of “NUSOPEN”, as “NUS” is protected by PEAP and it is much faster.

*UPDATE 2* There is a bug in iOS4 which cause .mobileconfig files not recognized by Safari. For more details, read here. To overcome this issue:

Using your computer, go to http://lesterchan.net/nus/iphone/

Key in your NUSNET UserID and click Generate

Your browser should prompt you to download the NUS.mobileconfig file

Once you have downloaded the file, email the file to yourself

Using Mail.app in your iOS, open up the the email which contains the NUS.mobileconfig attachement

You should now be able to install the NUS.mobileconfig profile

*UPDATE* It is now working with iOS 3.0.

Instructions

Launch Safari in your iPhone/iPod Touch

Go to http://lesterchan.net/nus/iphone/

Under Your NUSNET ID, key in your NUSNET UserID (EXCLUDING the domain (NUSSTU, NUSSTF or GUEST) portion)

Click Generate

A Install Profile screen will appear

Click Install

A Install Profile Warning Popup will appear

Ignore the warning and click Install Now

A Enter Password screen will appear

Key in your NUSNET Password

Click Next

A Profile Installed screen will appear

Click Done

Go back to your Home Screen

Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi

Under Wi-Fi, select ON

Under Choose a Network…, select NUS

Wait a while, while it trys to connects

A Certificate screen will appear

Click Accept

You are now connected to NUS WLAN SSID

Notes

At Step 18, you may need to re-try Step 14 to 17 if it takes more than 1 minute to connect.

At Step 20, you may need to re-try Step 14 to 20 if nothing happens when you click Accept.

If you are going to reference this tutorial anywhere, please credit it to me. I spent a lot of time on figuring out how to configure my iPhone 3G to connect to NUS Wireless network and I have put together this tutorial to make life easier for all NUS students.

Privacy

The generator DOES NOT save your NUSNET UserID on this server.

At Step 10, when asked to key in your password, it is iPhone authenticating with NUS and NOT with this server.

In short, you can rest assured that NONE of your information is saved on this server.

I have been so busy with my school lately, despite having a 1 week holiday last week. I used to complete my never ending assignments. It seems that every week, there is an assignment due and it is all report writing, and reporting writing is basically testing your Googling, paraphrasing and smoking skills. There is 0 programming for me this semester and perhaps the next semester as well.

I have not been going to the movies for about 1 month or more!!! But anyway, time flies, half the semester has gone. 10 more weeks till end of exams and then I can enjoy my Taiwan trip!

Out of topic, I would like to show off my iPhone 3G Springboard!

My iPhone 3G Springboard

I have Jailbroken it using Windows QuickPwn 2.1 in less than 10 minutes.

The theme is based on Damino by Anjuna, the wallpaper is Seasons – Winter by Kol and the font is Silkscreen by Kottke.

This theme requires WinterBoard application and Five Icon Dock modification, both by Saurik.

Bought the SwitchEasy Capsule Neo (black) case for my iPhone 3G for SGD$49.90 from GizmoSquare which is located at 102 Tanjong Pagar Road. I like the online store because I can pay by PayPal and then collect it at the physical store itself.

The opening hours on weekdays is from 12pm to 9pm, I went there at 5pm on Wednesday and I got a shocked that the store is closed. Before hand I emailed Curtis (the boss of GizmoSquare) and he told me to come before 7pm as he need to close early for the day and I did, I reached there at 5pm which is indeed before 7pm.

I saw the number pasted on the glass door, it was a normal land line number. I called the number hoping it get diverted to the mobile phone instead and indeed it gets diverted. Curtis picked up the call (I am assuming it is him) and told me that he will ask his neighbour to pass it to me. I was quite puzzled by the term neighbour. After 5 minutes, a man from the next shop which is a bridal shop came out and open the door of GizmoSquare. I took the Capsule Neo off the shelf and place it on the counter. The man made a call to confirm that it is the one that I bought and after that I got what I came for. Before leaving the shop, I ask the man are they affiliated and the man is actually the father of Curtis.

It did not leave a very good first impression to be honest.

I received an email after that from Curtis apologizing for the shop not being open. It is actually his girlfriend birthday and so happen that another staff is on MC as well and hence the shop is not open. This email erased the “not very good first impression” I have on GizmoSquare.

Came off and spend like 30 minutes to put on the Capsule Neo on my iPhone 3G. It is really a chore! In the process, the bottom part of the super thin silicon membrane was slightly torn as the plastic edge of the case was pretty sharp. Do note that the silicon membrane is so thin that there are 2 silicons included in the package just in case people tore it. Nevertheless, I managed to fit the Capsule Neo almost perfectly (covering the chrome edges is the hardest) which I am quite satisfied with.

Package Contents

I was there at the Singapore iPhone 3G launch over at Singtel ComCenter which happen at midnight on the 22nd August 2008. I reached there at about 9.15pm and started queuing. I was the 43rd in the queue according to the sticker pasted on my application form.

There are 2 parts of the queue, the first part (Killiney side) is where you queue up and then the part time sales people will write down all your details in the application form as well as the equipment form. Once you are done, they will bring you in batches to the second part of the queue which is in front of the glass house. You will wait at there till midnight. There is a live band EIC and Glenn Ong from Class 95 to entertain you. I brought my laptop along as well so I can provide live updates on Hardware Zone forums.

Approaching midnight, all the top brass from Singtel came and together with the first person in the queue who started queuing since 12pm stand in front of the glass house’s doors. At the stroke of midnight, they pulled the big ribbon which is wrapping around the glass house to unveil the launch of Apple iPhone 3G in Singapore and “mini” fireworks were released. The first guy went in together with the top 10 customers of Singtel into the glass house to get their iPhone 3G. I think the top 10 customers are the one who gave Singtel the most money.

The first guy took about 15 minutes inside and once he is out, all the media are taking pictures and interviewing him. Once his 5 minutes of fame is over, it is the time for the rest of us in the queue to get ours. I think there are 2 places to buy your iPhone 3G, one in Hello Store itself and one in the glass house. The staff directed us to the Hello Store instead and gave each of us a queue number. My queue number was 1032. I waited for about 5 minutes before it is my turn as perhaps the counter is still setting up.

The staff who attended to me is extremely polite and knows his products well. I applied for the Singtel iTwo Value Student which is SGD$48.15 per month and Broadband on Mobile 1000 which is SGD$22.42 per month. Totaling it up would be SGD$70.57 per month. I got the Black 16GB iPhone 3G at SGD$508 but because of the student plan, I get another SGD$50 off the phone and hence the phone cost SGD$458.

I suppose to meet Weiquan and queue together but I was too early and hence I queue first. Nevertheless after purchasing my iPhone 3G (I was done by 1.30am actually), I waited for Weiquan inside the Hello Store and we waited for his turn. He also applied for the iTwo Value Student which is SGD$48.15 per month and also got the Black 8GB iPhone 3G for SGD$298 after SGD$50. He said he will wait for a while before applying the Broadband on Mobile 1000. The staff who attended to him was not very polite and I am not really happy with his work attitude.

There are 32 counters inside the Hello Store if I am not wrong, but there are only 3 cashiers and that is the bottle neck. Every sales staff just put the customer iPhone on the floor, chair or any available space they can find. And when it is the customer turn, they will ask you for your name and the color of your iPhone 3G and they will search through the whole floor of iPhones before finding yours. A lot of people make noise about the issue especially the guy behind us, he was making a very huge fuss about it.

We left about 3.30am and I sent Weiquan home and drop by Li Xiang house to say hi.

Later at night, my brother said he saw me on Channel 8 10pm news but I was not at home. I wanted to watch the Channel U 11pm news to see if they repeat it, but to my disappointment, they didn’t run it. I managed to catch a video posted by xin.sg (it was Li Xiang idea) and I managed to see myself in the video.

After watching the video, I was like WTF! How come only the first person in the queue got served by Singtel Staff wearing gloves while the rest of us do not have that. That is so double standard.

Here is the “mini” fireworks video that I took:

I have uploaded the few pictures that I took to my gallery:

Been a long time since I blogged about my personal life because there is nothing much to blog about. Also I have not watched any movie for the past 1 month plus! The last movie that I watched was The Dark Knight in KL!

School
Just ended my first week of school. It is a 4 day week for me where Monday is my off day. Just when I thought I have to take 4 exams for this semester, I was wrong, the new module CS3361 do not have an exam! Our lecturer who is the CTO of IBM Singapore, told us this piece of good news today. So now I have 3 papers to study for and my last date of my examination is 27th November 2008.

Taiwan
I will be going to Taiwan with Li Xiang during December. My mom got 2 free tickets for a 6 days 5 nights trip to Taiwan as she bought 2 lorries for her office and each lorry is entitled to 1 ticket. Li Xiang and I was thinking of extending the trip to about 2 weeks instead of just 6 days so that we can explore more. Hopefully we are able to do it. Keeping my fingers cross.

Wanted to wait till I am in Taiwan before I get the Asus EEE PC, but apparently the price difference is not that great. According to some online site I checked, it is just a different of SGD$50 and the keyboard layout maybe in Chinese and Taiwan has different voltage from Singapore. Since there are so many factors to consider, I think I shall get my netbook in Singapore. Now I am considering between Dell, Lenovo and Asus. Dell and Lenovo will launch their netbook soon.

Comex 2008
Comex 200 will take place on the 28th August 2008 till 31st August 2008 at Suntec City Exhibition Center (entire levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6). The opening hours is from 12pm to 9pm.

Thinking of getting the D-Link DNS-323 (2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure) and along with a 1TB Western Digital Harddisk Drive for my home. The DNS-323 is running on Linux and hence I can do a great deal of stuff on it like use it as a Torrenting machine, FTP server and even a Web Server.

Going to get Li Xiang a USB mouse as her mouse gave up on her a few months back.

Apple iPhone 3G
Singtel will be announcing the price plan for Apple iPhone 3G next week before officially releasing it on 22th August 2008. I have gotten all the documents (authorization letter and my mom’s NRIC) ready for me to jump ship from M1 to Singtel. Apparently when doing the true number portability from one operator to another operator, the account name must be the same for both operators. My M1 line is under my mom’s name and hence when I use the true number portability in Singtel, I need to apply under my mom’s name as well and not mine.

The funny thing is that my mom is using my name for her Singtel line as last time when I was in National Service (NS), they offered discounted plans for NSF and hence my mom switch it to under my name.

My M1 plan will end officially on 24th August 2008 and Singtel will launch the iPhone on the 22nd August 2008. This means that I have to sign up an account with Singtel on the 22nd August 2008 as well. I called Singtel to ask whether 2 days does make a difference in the true number portability as technically my plan with M1 have not ended yet and the CSO said it is fine. Woot!

I am using the iPod Touch and I dare to say that no other devices can come close to the iPod Touch/iPhone in terms of web surfing experience.

With the voice and data plan bundled together with the iPhone, I can surf the Internet wherever I go without worrying about the data charges.

Now the only thing we can hope is Singtel don’t disappoint us with the pricing.

Dad Coming Back For 4 Days
My dad is coming back on the 30th August 2008 for 4 days as there is a long weekend in Vietnam during that week and my dad just need to take 1 day of leave. I have already planned on where to bring my dad go eat to make my dad gain back the weight that he lost in Hanoi.

2 weeks ago, I have already book a table at MELT for Lunch on the 31st August 2008.

It is Friday, 11th July 2008 in Singapore (GMT+8). The iPhone 3G has been released in New Zealand as well as Australia and more countries are coming up next due to different time zone.

While in Singapore, there are rumors that the iPhone 3G will be released later instead of in September 2008. I highly doubt this rumor is true. If you read the whole thread, there is also another rumor saying that iPhone 3G will be released on 11th August 2008, exactly 1 month after the iPhone 3G is released in the US.

There is now an iTunes store in Singapore but there are only apps for you to purchase, no music or videos are seen in the store. You can choose Singapore under “My Country” which is located right at the bottom of the iTunes Store page. I have just created my iTunes Singapore account, you need a credit card and a Singapore address.

Now I am waiting for the iPod Touch Firmware 2.0 which I have to pay USD$9.90 for it. Apple seriously always screws early adopters and a perfect example of it is those iPod Touch users who paid USD$19.90 for the January 2008 App Pack and now they will have to pay USD$9.90 for the 2.0 firmware. And to make matter worst, the January 2008 App Pack is included in the firmware 2.0.

It looks EXACTLY the same as the old iPhone. But it is MUCH CHEAPER. USD$199 for 8GB and USD299 for 16GB, which translate to SGD$271.81 for the 8GB and SGD$408.19 for the 16GB one. BUT the prices stated comes with a 2 years contract.

The only difference between the iPhone 3G and the iPhone is the additional of 3G support (duh), GPS (Assisted GPS), the back is now in black or white, flushed headphone jack and better audio quality.

I am so disappointed with this year WWDC. I was hoping they announced a better iPhone successor.

Now lets wait and see how much Singtel is going to charge for a 2 year plan for the iPhone 3G.

100% the iPhone 3G will be coming to Singapore. Check out Apple Singapore Store: iPhone 3G. But when is still a question mark.

The irony is that it is CHEAPER than a iPod Touch and with additional Phone, GPS and Bluetooth capability! Looks like Apple just killed the iPod Touch.

*UPDATE* The iPhone 3G link is up in Apple Singapore, http://www.apple.com/sg/iphone/, and Singtel is the only telecom so far to bring it, http://www.apple.com/sg/iphone/buy/.
