As we all know that Microsoft Vista was originally scheduled to be released in 2003, after two years of Windows XP, but it got delayed by over five years due to various reasons. Definitely, Vista is very very improved OS over the previous versions, but the delayed in the launch has cost Microsoft, billions of dollars. Now the question at the moment is, what exactly after Vista? Microsoft can’t afford to wait another five years for an operating system. People are becoming more aware of the choices they have, and Linux is no longer a hobbyist OS, and that day isnt far away when it becomes simple enough to be a viable alternative to Windows. The competition is fierce. That is why, to stay at the top, Microsoft has planned a ‘Vista R2′, codenamed ˜Fiji which will be released some time in 2008. And after Fiji, there will be Windows ‘Vienna’. Windows Fiji, will not be a totally different OS from Vista; but it will be an add-on. Whereas Vienna will be totally different from Vista.
Windows Fiji will feature a more powerful sidebar, Monaco, a music authoring tool similar to Apples Garageband, default playback of HD-DVD, more advanced Speech Recognition, and new themes, icons, wallpapers, games, and minor tweaks to almost everything.
While in Windows Vienna the current interface will be completely stripped, no more explorer shells, and taskbars. No start menu. Probably no toolbars, or menus and Speech Recognition will become a major input device. One thing is for certain, Vienna wont be just an operating system, but a new generation in computing.

Had a DMMT gathering yesterday at Marina’s Sakae Sushi organized by Charlene, people turn up includes Charlene, Stacey, Zhi Wei, Zhi Ming, Terry, Hafiz, Ron, Lynn, Lester Goh, Xiu Hui, Laily, Suqin, Li Xiang and I. It was rather coincidence as we saw Zhi Fan and his girlfriend too. This is the 2nd time I have been eating Sakae Sushi within this week. After dinner, it was quite hard to find a place to chill out as everywhere is so crowded due to it is a Friday night. So we end up at Suntec’s Starbucks which closes at 1am.
The first time was also a DMMT gathering at Wheelock’s Sakae Sushi organized by Hui Juan, people turn up includes Hui Juan, Jie Lin, Xiu Yu, Elaine, Wei Quan, Choon Sing, Alvin and I.
3 months ago, I won a little quiz that entitles me to get this WordPress Japan book for free. I wrote the WordPress Plugin, WP-PostRatings, which is featured in the book. The reason for the little quiz is due to there any many plugins featured in the book too. This will be good for my portfolio.
Thank You Naoko if you are reading this.

» CS1104 Computer Organisation B
» CS1231 Discrete Structures D+
» ET1000 English For Academic Purposes (Comp) B-

Dissappointed that my CS1102 only got B+, was hoping for at least an A. But to balance that out, luckily I managed to pass CS1231. I totally hate that module.

Death Note 2: The Last Name
Caught Death Note 2: The Last Name at GV Marina last night, the show lasted quite long, about 140 minutes. From my point of view, I think it is just average, Death Note 1 is still better, but it is a must watch because it is the concluding part. There will be a spin-off film, featuring L as the main character and is currently in production to be released in Japan in 2007.

Night At The Museum
Caught Night At The Museum last night at GV Jurong Point, the show lasted about 2 hours and it is quite good. Humorous and unique storyline. It is only towards the middle of the show that is interesting, the introduction is boring.
Eragon
Quite a boring movie even with the fight scene which is suppose to be the climate of the whole movie. Hope the 2nd installation will be better. Lords Of The Rings is way better.
3D Mark 2006
Benchmarked my current computer using 3D Mark 2006 and it is obtain miserables score of 1466. Will be benchmarking LiXiang computer later.
EDIT: LiXiang’s computer 3D Mark 2006 score is 5224.
Flag Of Our Fathers
Caught Flag Of Our Fathers last week, it was quite a touching movie and alongside with it, it was quite gory. But overall it was not too bad of a show. It is more of a documentary than a action war movie like Black Hawk Down. And it is the first time I knew something called war bonds. LOL. Anyway, Black Hawk Down is still the best war movie I had seen.
Formatting Computers
I have been formatting 3 computers within the last 4 days.
I have formatted my own computer back to Windows XP due to the lag that Windows Vista gave to my computer/
My brother just got his laptop from the Starhub promotion and I uninstalled hell lots of softwares that HP came along with the laptop and installed all those softwares that he needed. Seriously I fucking hate branded computers because of those stupid softwares they bundled with the computer. I like my computer clean and not bloated with ANY softwares that I will not use.
The software I hate to installed most is Nero, because it will install so much shit (Nero Scout and Nero Search) into my computer even though I have only selected Nero Burning Rom in the custom installation.
How to remove Nero Scout:
Go to Start -> Run -> Type In:
regsvr32 /u “%commonprogramfiles%\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll”
Note: It is all in 1 line.
How to remove Nero Search:
Go to Start -> Run -> Type In:
Cmd.exe /c regsvr32 /u /s “%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearch.dll” && regsvr32 /u /s “%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearchBar.dll” && regsvr32 /u /s “%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearchTray.dll”
Note: It is all in 1 line.
Last but least, the 3rd computer I have formatted is today when my mom crash her office computer but offing the electricity when Windows XP hung instead of holding on to the on/off button.
Was searching for DOCTYPEs for XHTML 1.1 and came across Wikipedia article on XHTML 2.0.
After reading it though, I can’t wait for XHTML 2.0, the features looks great. Below are 3 of the features that I picked out.
» Any element will be able to act as a hyperlink, e.g., < li href="articles.html" >Articles< /li >, similar to XLink. However, XLink itself is not compatible with XHTML due to design differences.
» Any element will be able to reference alternative media with the src attribute, e.g., < p src="lbridge.jpg" type="image/jpeg" >London Bridge< /p > is the same as < object src="lbridge.jpg" type="image/jpeg" >< p >London Bridge< /p >< /object >.
» The alt attribute of the img element has been removed: alternative text will be given in the content of the img element, much like the object element, e.g., < img src="hms_audacious.jpg"/>HMS < em >Audacious< /em >.
Look at what you can do with Microsoft Paint. This guy is good.
Caught Deja Vu today. It is a good show, my eyes was glued to the huge screen throughout the entire movie. The technology they used to trace the criminal is uber leet. If anyone can invent that, they can be richer than Bill Gates.
Found another expensive chocolate shop, located inside Spain 2 Dream, called Chocolate Factory. Bought a pack of sticks of chocolate, cost us $17.
Monday 7pm, marks the end of my exams, time to relax and update my plugins, and if I have time HTMLise my new layout.
Windows Vista
I have installed Windows Vista on my computer. The GUI is really good, but it lags my computer or rather it does not run as fast as Windows XP run on my computer.
My Windows Experience Index:
Processor : 3.2
Memory (RAM): 3.8
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 4.9
Primary Hard Disk: 5.2
You can check the specs of my current computer under About -> Toys. I think Windows Vista need duo core and at least 1GB of ram to run smoothly.
Now I am considering whether to stick to my XP or buy the OEM of Vista Home Premium.
Happy Feet & Open Season
Caught Happy Feet and Open Season, 2 movies within a day, back to back at Vivo City today. Both movies are not bad. Will be watching Deja Vu tomorrow at Vivo City also. Hope to watch Flag Of Our Fathers too.
To My Ah Dear: Sorry if I neglected you for the past 2 weeks due to my exams, I will make it up to you =D
