Anyway, 3 of sibilings have fixed to meet on the third day of chinese new year. Let’s see what he is going to comment. Yadada~ Yadada~

Had an eventful weekends last week, as we meet up with our Thailand friends and brought them around Singapore for shopping.

They have been to Chinatown, Little India, Funan IT Mall, Habour Front and Suntec City. The most memorable one is the Little India trip. That was like my second time to Little India, after bringing Adam 2 years ago. There is this new arcade that sells quite a number of jewellery. Bought some bangles there but the girls are shopping like crazy.

Thanks to them, i wouldn’t step into Little India in the usual days and to touch the water at the Suntec City’s fountain. Singapore ain’t that boring i guess. Heez~ But too short a stay in Singapore, we would have brought them to try Nasi Lemak, Fried Kway Teow, have some local breakfast, lunch and dinner. And you will be surprise, they don’t like Far East Plaza.

Wallace & Gromit - Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Caught Wallace & Gromit yesterday at GV Jurong Point. Heard some good and also bad reviews about it. But after watching it, I must say that it is a good show. Recommended. It is very funny and cute at the same time, especially those bunnies. Before the show starts, there is a mini movie called The Madagascar - Penguins In A Christmas Caper. Nothing new about it. I guess most of us had already watched it a month ago.

Sony Ericsson W810i
Sony Ericsson launches W810i at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2006 (CES). The design is like a K710i design with W800i walkman features. It will feature both the activity menu and the walkman button. It comes with EDGE, Quadband and a 512Mb memory stick. Sounds good? The cons are that it only has a 20mb internal memory and every other thing else is the same as K710i/W800i. It will be shipping in March 2006.

Misc
On 8th January 2006 marks my 2nd year anniversary that I passed my driving, how time flies.

Manage to talk to my chief clerk about my studies in NUS and I can take my PINK IC on 4th August 2006 instead of 8th August 2006. Seriously it is better 4 days early than nothing.

Been raining almost everyday since the start of the year, love the cool weather but hate the traffic jam cause by the rain.

Manage to get an invitation to test out Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger 8 ). Love the interface of it. I am also in the beta of the next hotmail version, Windows Live Mail.

WordPress 2.0 is finally announced on WordPress official site. More information about the change in WordPress 2.0.

In the mean time, I have updated ALL my 8 plugins to be compatible with WordPress 2.0.

Went to CA for dinner yesterday, sat there for a straight 4 hours, after that we had some chilling out at Suntec’s City Fountain Of Wealth before proceeding to Esplanade to see the fireworks.

We were at Esplanade at about 11.30pm, and the whole place is really packed with people. When we where there, they just nice off the street lamps and the place is dark, then waited for about 11.59pm before the 1st firework was fired up in the sky and the crowd scream. The whole fireworks display lasted exactly 10 minutes and the last finale being spamming of fireworks, is like you got 30 rounds of ammo left and you have to emptied it within a few seconds.

Ah yes, finally an update. Been very very busy for the past weeks, sleeping early, doing programming and going out. Finally found some time in camp to post this.

Just came back from my 1st gym session in SAFTI. I must exercise, if not I will be getting fatter each day and my clothes will soon be smaller.

Just got my NUS letter yesterday, my AY starts on 7th August 2006 (Monday), but I ORD on 8th August 2006 (Tuesday). I wonder can I ORD earlier like maybe on 4th August 2006 (Friday) as I cannot collect my IC on weekends. My chief clerk is on leave, must ask her when she comes back.

3 more days to 2006. Lots of good movies and gadgets will be coming out in 2006. Lets see how technology is next year!

Aeon Flux
Quite an interesting show, but the plot is rather shallow. Storyline quite similar to The Island, but The Island is still nicer. I kind of like the scene where they were about to infiltrate the main building and they go though plantations and grass patches but actually all those are hidden weapons. The fruits are like machine guns and the grass are sharp edges. I like the concept.

King Kong
3 hour show, excellent visual effects but I think still lose out to LOTR. There are quite alot of funny scenes and the last scene was kind of sad. I find the show abit long, the 1st hour of the show is quite boring, only towards the middle then it become interesting. Is it me or the tribal woman in the show says “Tua Ling Kong” or something similar?

Christmas 2005
Had lunch at Outback on Christmas’s Eve with LiXiang. The food they served that is quite different from what they served in Thailand’s Outback. But the food is as good and the portion is as big. We ordered 3 side dishes (soup, blooming onion and cheese fries) and 1 main dish (grilled chicken breast). Both of us can’t finished the food as in there are quite alot of left over. But the food there is excellent, it is better than Tony Roma.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
This is quite a children show, but it is average. Still can watch. The fighting scenes is no where compared to LOTR. But I still think Harry Potter is better than Chronicles of Narnia. It is Narnia and not Nardia.

WordPress 2.0
Wordpress 2.0 was released on 26th December 2005 and it breaks htaccess compatibility issues. I have updated wp-polls, wp-pagenavi and wp-useronline to be compatible with WP 2.0. wp-email and wp-print will be on the way as soon as I figured out the htaccess part. Followed behind will be least popular plugins like wp-stats, wp-wap and wp-dbmanager.

I will try to make all the installations of the plugins as easy as possible with minimum user editing. Finally I had learned how add_filter() and add_action() works. LOL, abit slow.

As for the site, I will not upgrade to WP 2.0 so soon, maybe in 1 to 2 months time.

Day 1 (Friday, 02-12-05)
Our maxi cab came at 8am, we reached the airport slightly before 9am. Had our breakfast at the Terminal 1 canteen before checking in. Our flight, FD3502 is at 11am. The flight is around 2 hours. We reached Bangkok at about 12pm Bangkok time. Their time is 1 hour before Singapore.

We checked into Asia Hotel before proceeding to Mah Boon Krong (MBK) for lunch at the foodcourt. We took the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), it is similar to our MRT but just that all the stations is elevated. They are still using our Farecard system, exactly the same as Singapore last time. Their 1 day pass cost 100 Baht and allow you unlimited rides for the day. 100 Baht is around $4.20 SGD.

When we are at the foodcourt, the 1st thing that comes to my mind is that the food is very cheap compared to Singapore. And they even provide tissue papers on every table in the foodcourt.

After lunch we took a quick walk around the top level of MBK before going back to the hotel to get ready for dinner with my mom’s friend. As my mom knows a lot of people there, almost all our meals are provided.

For dinner we ate at Ban Khun Mae, it is a Thai cuisine restaurant. Food was good of course.

After the dinner, we proceed to Siam area. We went to Siam Center’s Nike Boutique. The design of the shop is exactly the same as the Nike Bird Boutique in Singapore. After that we went to Siam Discovery Center and into their Kipling Boutique. There is a huge trademark Kipling monkey right behind the door and the handle of the door also featured their monkey.

At night we went to Lumpini aka Suan Lum night bazaar. Things are quite expensive there as in the stated price before bargain.
