WP-Sticky 1.00 Beta 2

WP-Sticky 1.00 Beta 2 is out. This is the start of an actual WP-Sticky Plugin because I have re-written the code.

You can configure WP-Sticky options in ‘WP-Admin -> Options -> Sticky‘.

You can find the post’s ‘Sticky‘ Option under ‘Post Sticky Status‘ Options in the ‘Write/Edit Post Screen‘.

Need support, post it in here, WP-Sticky Support Forums.

Last but not least, read the readme.html file and NOTE the tabs.

*UPDATE* WP-Sticky is now out of beta, download WP-Sticky 1.00.

  1. Am I retarded or is nothign actually sticky? It only appear to add text to a post. Doesnt “sticky” the article at the top of a category list.

  2. seems every time a post/page is edited, another custom field of sticky=0 is added…. getting several of these on some posts now 🙁

  3. You sure? I just tried and there is no duplicate data.

Can you drop me an email with the EXACT thing you did that cause the duplicate data.

  4. puzz1ed1: After second thought. You are using Beta 1, this is beta 2. You can delete all the sticky custom fields after you installed this.

    henry: Thank You =)

  5. I posted the German language-files in the support-forums and by the way – great plugin but much more greater readme-file. never seen that before!

  6. This is almost perfect. Would it be possible to add an option where the announcement only gets shown at the top of a particular category? In other words, I have a post I would NOT like to show at the top of the main page, but I WOULD like to show at the top of its category page. Thanks!

  7. Well color me stupid. That did it – thanks. One more question… What template tag do I need to be using to show the announcement banner instead of the date? I have “Display Date” set to “No”, but I still see the date on my posting instead of the announcement banner. Thanks…

  8. Kudos to Lester for continuing developing this great plugin.
One user of mine was just telling me “how sticky was a good thing and how it’s a pity it was discontinued”.

  9. I have WP 2.12 and this is the error I get when installing your sticky plugin I knew it was buggy off teh bat when i stuck it into my plugins folder and tried to activate it. …all i get after hitting activate is a blank white screen, i then hit the refresh on IE and everythig comes back, but then when I go to manage a post or the main page for my blog, this is what i get:

WordPress database error: [Table ‘run4motion_jack.wp_sticky’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS wp_posts.*, wp_sticky.sticky_status FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_sticky ON wp_sticky.sticky_post_id = wp_posts.ID WHERE 1=1 AND (post_type = ‘post’ AND (post_status = ‘publish’ OR post_status = ‘future’ OR post_status = ‘draft’ OR post_status = ‘private’)) ORDER BY (wp_sticky.sticky_status = 2 AND wp_sticky.sticky_status IS NOT NULL) DESC, DATE_FORMAT(wp_posts.post_date,’%Y-%m-%d’) DESC, (wp_sticky.sticky_status = 1 AND wp_sticky.sticky_status IS NULL) DESC, DATE_FORMAT(wp_posts.post_date,’%T’) DESC LIMIT 0, 15

  10. Functionality is good.
Nitpick: in the write post page, the little config box overhangs the framed area when all the option boxes are expanded.

  11. You are absolutely right. I take back what I said.

I have to uncheck the “Use the visual editor when writing” under Your Profile. That visual editor rewrites everything.

    Please delete my 9:42 post.

  12. unrelated question. What plug-in lets you visually tag the country, operating system and browser next to their name?

  13. Question….can this plugin stick multi-posts? I mean, I want 2 or 3 special posts to stay on top of the others, one for announcement, one for introduce myself….you name it. 🙂

  14. I love it. This thing works perfectly on two different installs. Very pleased with your plugins. Thanks so much
