WP-Polls 2.20 Logs

Someone mentioned in the forums that since WP-Polls 2.20 allows users to vote for multiple answers, it make sense to revamp the whole logging part of WP-Polls and to allow administrator better understand his site’s voters preference.

I have since done so but it is still in a planning stages, comments and ideas are all welcomed. Here is a screenshot to get my point across.

I have removed the poll’s log from the Edit Poll and move it to its own page called log. There will be paging in the log page for sure.

There are 3 main ways you can filter the logs.

1. You can choose to display all the users that voted for a certain answers in a poll and you can choose what type voters you want to display.

2. View the answer voted by registered users or comment authors. It will not support guests.

3. You can choose to display the users who voted for more than 2 answers and what they voted for. This option is only available if the poll supports multiple answers.

Registered Users - It means the user is registered with your WordPress blog.
Comment Authors - Visitors who posted comments in your blog before and hence we are able to get his name/nickname via the cookies. 2 comment authors may share the same name, so it is not 100% accurate.
Guests - Self explanatory

   Hello,

   For multiple selections polls, I found the percetage calculated is not reasonable. The following is an example, (don’t care the codes if you can’t read, they are Chinese characters)

   你喜歡全民大悶鍋哪些單元？(可複選)

   阿洪之聲 (36%, 13 Votes)
   張國志的人市分析 (17%, 6 Votes)
   施主席的轟趴 (17%, 6 Votes)
   海協會記者會 (8%, 3 Votes)
   滿城盡是運將們 (8%, 3 Votes)
   芒果亂報 (6%, 2 Votes)
   總統府就是你家 (6%, 2 Votes)
   秘書長的微笑 (3%, 1 Votes)
   其他 (0%, 0 Votes)
   投票人數: 19

   The total voters are 19, but the percentage of the first option should be 13/19(voters)*100%, not 38% (13 votes/total votes*100%) shown above.

   LOL, I am a chinese but my chinese sucks =(

   But isn’t it suppose to based on the total votes instead of total voters? I have no clue about that, does multiple poll system based on total votes or total voters?. I can include both percentage calculation as a template variable if preferred.

   In my opinion, based on total voters is more reasonable for multiple selections. Think, 13 out of 19 voters prefer the top option, why the percetage is only 36%?

   Yes, that’s for sure, for multiple selections the sum will exceed 100%.

   BTW, do you remember to add “total visitors” in useronline plugin? as I suggest in http://www.lesterchan.net/blogs/archives/2007/02/03/ads-on-this-site/#comments

   Regarding the multiple vote percentage, you made a point there. I will change it.

   i am still finding out the most efficient way in doing that and not double counting it.

   I download WP-Polls 2.20 RC1 and find you did not change the percentage issue discussed above. Or do I miss something?

    After reseting all templates, the percentage is the same as previous version. 2nd poll of http://ying.homedns.org/wp/polls/
