WordPress 2.8.5

WordPress 2.8.5 has been released. This release makes your WordPress even more secure:

  • A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
  • Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
  • Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
  • Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

    I don’t understand why they released the new version so quickly after the last update 2 months ago.
    I don’t see any changing in this new version. It’s not really necessary to upgrade.

  3. Saw this update Yesterday and the first thing which I did
    was Backup my Db and updated the wordpress. Though wordpress are releasing very quick update.. :|

    I’m trying to use one of your plugins “WP-PostRatings 1.5″ for my WP 2.8.5 site. The plugin seems to install fine, but after enabling ratings in my post via [ratings] shortcode, I see an error on the page.

    I also tried disabling Ajax to see if it’s because of that but with no luck. Can you help me out ?

    didnt work the first time. works now. good. wish there was ajax refreshing at the 1 min mark, 5 min, 10, min, 30 min, 1 hr, etc
