WP-Polls Multiple Options

Posted by Lester Chan at 01:01 in WP-Polls

I always wanted to implement this feature into WP-Polls, now I have finally done it. I think with this new feature, I am going to increase the version of WP-Polls straight to 2.20 instead of 2.15.

I will need people to test it before I release it out to the public. If you have some interest in it and love playing around with plugins, do me a favor and leave a comment in this post. Let me see what are the response like.

Thank you.

WP-Polls 2.15 Beta Test

Posted by Lester Chan at 23:54 in WP-Polls

Just wondering if anyone of you here want to beta test WP-Polls 2.15? I need people to test it because the administration panel of WP-Polls has undergone a major change. But please do not use it on a live site as it is still a beta product.

If you downloaded it, please feedback to me via the Support Forums or by email.

Thank You.

UPDATE: Download: WP-Polls 2.20 Beta 1

WP-Polls Administration Panel Update

Posted by Lester Chan at 02:17 in WP-Polls

I think it is time for me to update WP-Polls Administration Panel as the code hasn’t been change much since WordPress 1.5.2.

Things I have in mind:
» AJAX used for almost everything with the exception of Adding/Editing Poll and Uninstallation Of WP-Polls
» Adding Poll will have its own tab rather than in Manage Poll Tab
» Uninstall Poll will also have its own tab rather than in Manage Poll Tab

The deleting of polls under the Manage Poll Tab will be something like when you delete WordPress categories, those fanciful fading will be included =)

Poll/Rating AJAX Style Option

Posted by Lester Chan at 23:28 in WP-Polls, WP-PostRatings

I have added 2 minor features to WP-PostRatings and WP-Polls. It is the ability to choose whether to show the loading image with text and the fading in and out of the poll/rating.

Some of you may not like the loading image with text, and now your wish came true, you can choose not to display it under the respective options menu.

For those CSS validating freaks, the opacity CSS value for wp-polls and wp-postratings will not pass CSS validation at W3. Now all you have to do is remove those lines in the respective css file and choose “No” for “Show Fading In And Fading Out Of Polls/Ratings”

One last thing before I end, as you all may know, if polls or ratings is embedded within the post, when viewing feed for the post, the post content might appear unsightly, so now let me gather your feedback to this issue with a poll.

Are You Looking Forward to WordPress 2.7?

WP-EMail 2.10

Posted by Lester Chan at 21:04 in WP-EMail

I have release WP-EMail 2.10 for WordPress 2.1 only.

WP-EMail 2.10

» Demo
» Download
» Support Forum

Note: If you get 404 error even after re-generating permalinks, it means that your theme is using an outdated way of getting/display posts from the database. Just drop me an email with your page.php from your theme folder attached.

There will be no more integrating of wp-email to your theme, everything is automatic now, you do not even need to create a page for this.

I have also internationalize this plugin which makes localization much easier.

WP-EMail 2.10 Beta

Posted by Lester Chan at 16:09 in WP-EMail

Hi guys,

WP-EMail 2.10 is ready for testing, I need you guys to help me test this out because I have re-written part of the core code to support the ability to display the email form within pages. Yes, you do not need to manually edit wp-email.php anymore. It will be integrated into the page. An example of course would be this site.

I have added the styling of the email link similar to WP-Print. Check out the screenshot, readme/changelog and download link below.

» Here is the screenshot of the additional options in WP-EMail 2.10

» WP-Email 2.10 Readme/Changelog

» Click here to download WP-EMail 2.10 Beta

If you found any bug, please do not hesitate to post it in the support forums.

Thanks alot. I hope I can release this before 1st February 2007

I have also release 1 new plugin called WP-ServerInfo, it will display your host’s server PHP and MYSQL information (integrated into WordPress Admin Style) on your WordPress dashboard.

Gearing Up For WordPress 2.1

Posted by Lester Chan at 03:43 in Plugins

I have updated all my plugins readme and added a nice index page to the readme directory as you can see here: http://www.lesterchan.net/wordpress/readme/. All ready for the launch of WordPress 2.1. All my plugins are zipped and waiting to be uploaded and overwritten to the ftp directory.

But nevertheless I hope WordPress 2.1 will be launched on 1st February 2007, so that I can have enough time to update my print and email plugin. They DO WORK for WordPress 2.1, I just want to internationalize it so that they can be translated easily. All my plugins are now internationalize.

If have translated any of them, feel free to attach the .po and .mo file to me. I will then upload to the /i8n/ folder of the respective plugin of the CVS. Take WP-Polls i8n folder for example: http://dev.wp-plugins.org/browser/wp-polls/i18n

WordPress 2.1 RC 1

Posted by Lester Chan at 02:41 in Plugins, Site

I have updated this site to WordPress 2.1 RC1. The good news is I updated some of my plugins to make use of the “technology” of WordPress 2.1 but the bad news is that it is not backward compatible (I am too lazy/busy to make it backward compatible). I will release them when WordPress 2.1 goes gold.

Updated Plugins For WP 2.1:
» WP-Ban 1.10
» WP-DBManager 2.10
» WP-PageNavi 2.10
» WP-Polls 2.14
» WP-PostRatings 1.10
» WP-PostViews 1.10
» WP-RelativeDate 1.10
» WP-Stats 2.10
» WP-UserOnline 2.10
» WP-ServerInfo 1.00 (New Plugin - Display Your Host’s Server PHP and MYSQL Information On Your Dashboard)

Current Plugins That Will Work With WP 2.1:
» WP-EMail 2.07
» WP-Print 2.06

Plugins Not Tested With WP 2.1:
» WP-WAP 2.00

WP-DBManager and WP-ServerInfo cannot work side by side due function name conflicts, I will update WP-DBManager ASAP and also to make it work with WP 2.1 if it doesn’t

EDIT: WP-DBManager will be updated to 2.10
