  • Ported the readme.html to readme.txt

Finally, Props to Joakim Jardenberg, Jonas Nordström and Andreas Viklund for finding and reporting the previous security vulnerability.

If you do not use the default backup folder path, you are not affected by this.

However, most users are affected and it is recommended that you upgrade WP-DBManager to 2.61.

WP-DBManager 2.62 will be out on Tuesday with added nonce security and auto-repair functionality.

There are no major changes just some bug fixes especially to get it working with WordPress 3.0 Multi-Site options. I will continue to roll that fix out to other plugins as well when I have more time. The reason I chose WP-Polls and WP-DBManager first because of the number of request to get it working with the MS option.

I have also point the latest working stable version to trunk because I will not be adding any new features but bug fixes along the way and hence I am the trunk will be stable.

All of them should work on WordPress 2.8 as I did not test them on any WordPress version below that.

Now my plugins uses jQuery for AJAX instead of TW-Sack. I have also updated the widget code to make use of the new WordPress 2.8 new Widget class and that supports multi-instances widgets. The widget code has now been merge with the main plugin file so the standalone widget plugin file is no longer in use. Please delete the whole plugin folder and upload it again to avoid any error.

As WordPress 2.8 supports loading of JavaScript in the footer, all my plugins’ JavaScripts will be loaded in the footer. Be sure you have in your theme footer.php.

All of them should work on WordPress 2.7 as I did not test them on any WordPress version below that.

I am introducing a new plugin called WP-CommentNavi which basically paginate your comments similar to how WP-PageNavi paginate your posts. I am also retiring WP-Sticky as WordPress 2.7 has a sticky post feature built in. WP-Sticky 2.31 WILL NOT work on WordPress 2.7 due to a conflict function “is_sticky”. If you renamed that function to “is_sticky2″ or something else, it should work, but as usual I did not test it.

*UPDATE* Due to the large number of requests, I decided not to retire WP-Sticky and I have updated it to 1.40 and it is now compatible with WordPress 2.7.

In general, most of the updates are bug fixes. These updates in theory should be able to work till WordPress 2.7 when it comes out end of this year.

My new semester will begin on 2nd week August 2008, and hence I will be busy with my school work. So no updates to my plugins will be out till the end of this year unless it is a critical bug or a security issue.

The most general noticeable change would be the path to the plugin is now fixed. Previously it was nested in another folder and I got several hate mails because of that. Since the path problem has been solved, the Automatic Plugin Upgrade should work in theory.

WP-Ban and WP-DBManager basically undergo only cosmetic changes to suite WordPress 2.5 layout.

I have added a few minor additions to WP-PostViews. The changes are documented in the Changelog tab in the readme.html file include in the zip

The plugin which undergo the most changes is WP-DownloadManager. It is the longest changelog that I have ever done. I also added a new search feature into WP-DownloadManager. You can see it in action in the Downloads Page.

All of them are compatible with WordPress 2.3 but not all of them are backward compatible with WordPress 2.1 or 2.2.

The 2 new plugins are WP-DownloadManager and WP-PluginsUsed. As the name of the plugins suggest, WP-DownloadManager simply enhanced your WordPress by adding a simple download manager to it. WP-PluginsUsed will displays both active and inactive plugins that you are using in your WordPress blog.

This feature works on this site but it can’t email a backup database to my email address because simply the backup file is too big (around 10MB). For those users which have a smaller database, I need help from you guys in testing this particular feature of the automatic backup.
