I have updated the following plugins:

Now all AJAX requests are handled by /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. Previously it is handled via the plugin PHP file itself by assuming that wp-load.php is always 2 levels down from the plugin file. But since you can have your WordPress in any folders, custom loading of wp-load.php is not possible as the path to wp-load.php varies from server to server.

While I am at it, I added nonce check for AJAX calls to WP-Polls, WP-PostRatings and WP-Email. Let me know if you run into problems via WordPress Support Forums, My Forums (if you are already registered) or via email (lesterchan AT gmail).

WP-PostViews 1.60 is released which fixes form submit issues on WPMU installation, and now there is a “Views” column on the Edit Posts page. Of course similar to WP-Polls and WP-PostRatings, I have updated readme.txt to be a proper readme now.

Here is my June 2009 WordPress plugins update containing all my 16 WordPress plugins update. All of them should work on WordPress 2.8 as I did not test them on any WordPress version below that.

Now my plugins uses jQuery for AJAX instead of TW-Sack. I have also updated the widget code to make use of the new WordPress 2.8 new Widget class and that supports multi-instances widgets. The widget code has now been merge with the main plugin file so the standalone widget plugin file is no longer in use. Please delete the whole plugin folder and upload it again to avoid any error.

As WordPress 2.8 supports loading of JavaScript in the footer, all my plugins’ JavaScripts will be loaded in the footer. Be sure you have in your theme footer.php.

Lester Chan’s WordPress Plugins December 2008 Update

Here is my December 2008 WordPress plugins update containing all my 15 WordPress plugins update and 1 new WordPress plugin. All of them should work on WordPress 2.7 as I did not test them on any WordPress version below that.

I am introducing a new plugin called WP-CommentNavi which basically paginate your comments similar to how WP-PageNavi paginate your posts. I am also retiring WP-Sticky as WordPress 2.7 has a sticky post feature built in. WP-Sticky 2.31 WILL NOT work on WordPress 2.7 due to a conflict function “is_sticky”. If you renamed that function to “is_sticky2″ or something else, it should work, but as usual I did not test it.

*UPDATE* Due to the large number of requests, I decided not to retire WP-Sticky and I have updated it to 1.40 and it is now compatible with WordPress 2.7.

Lester Chan’s WordPress Plugins July 2008 Update

Here is my July 2008 WordPress plugins update containing all my 15 WordPress plugins. All of them should work on WordPress 2.5 as well as WordPress 2.6. It is not tested for any version below that.

In general, most of the updates are bug fixes. These updates in theory should be able to work till WordPress 2.7 when it comes out end of this year.

My new semester will begin on 2nd week August 2008, and hence I will be busy with my school work. So no updates to my plugins will be out till the end of this year unless it is a critical bug or a security issue.

Here is the second and final wave of my June 2008 plugins update containing the remaining 4 plugins. All of them should work only on WordPress 2.5. It is not tested for any version below that.

The most general noticeable change would be the path to the plugin is now fixed. Previously it was nested in another folder and I got several hate mails because of that. Since the path problem has been solved, the Automatic Plugin Upgrade should work in theory.

I have completed whatever I need to code for the remaining 4 plugins for Wave 2 release.

WP-Ban and WP-DBManager basically undergo only cosmetic changes to suite WordPress 2.5 layout.

I have added a few minor additions to WP-PostViews. The changes are documented in the Changelog tab in the readme.html file include in the zip

The plugin which undergo the most changes is WP-DownloadManager. It is the longest changelog that I have ever done. I also added a new search feature into WP-DownloadManager. You can see it in action in the Downloads Page.

As promised, I have release updates to 12 of my plugins and added 2 new plugins. All of them are compatible with WordPress 2.3 but not all of them are backward compatible with WordPress 2.1 or 2.2.

The 2 new plugins are WP-DownloadManager and WP-PluginsUsed. As the name of the plugins suggest, WP-DownloadManager simply enhanced your WordPress by adding a simple download manager to it. WP-PluginsUsed will displays both active and inactive plugins that you are using in your WordPress blog.

Widgets And Uninstaller

In short, Widgets and Uninstaller will be included in WP-PostRatings and WP-PostViews in version 1.20 onwards

WP-PostRatings widget supports “Most Rated” and “Highest Rated” posts and/or pages. WP-PostViews widget supports “Most Viewed” post and/or pages.

This should make quite a lot of users happy because they always wanted this feature instead of manually inputting php codes into the widget.

I have also added in an option page for WP-PostViews under “WP-Admin -> Options -> Post Views” in version 1.20. So now user can choose to let WP-PostViews count views from everyone, guest only or registered users only from the options page rather than manually editing the php code.

The release date hopefully will be around October 2007.
