The [SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C](http://www.sandisk.sg/products/mobile-flash-drives/dualdrive-type-c/) was released in Singapore back in April 2015 and it retails for **S$99**. It comes in only one size which is 32GB and features a two-year warranty.

Just in case you are not aware, this is a USB 3.0 enabled drive and is backward compatible with USB 2.0.

As of right now, I don’t have any devices that has a USB Type-C port and hence I think the SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C is ahead of its time. The only mainstream device in the market that has a USB Type-C port is the new [MacBook](https://www.apple.com/sg/macbook/).

Other devices that I know that are using the USB Type-C includes [Nokia N1 Android tablet](https://lesterchan.net/blog/2014/11/19/nokia-n1-android-tablet/), [Le 1, Le 1 Pro & Le Max](https://lesterchan.net/blog/2015/04/17/letv-announces-le-1-le-1-pro-le-max/), the new [Google Chromebook Pixel](https://www.google.com/chromebook/pixel/) and the upcoming [OnePlus Two](https://oneplus.net/).

This might change next year according to a [recent report by Strategy Analytics](https://www.strategyanalytics.com/access-services/devices/mobile-phones/handsets/reports/report-detail/will-usb-type-c-handsets-takeoff#.Va-8S-iqqko). The report estimates that by 2016, 12% of handsets alone will feature Type C connectors.

For disk speed test wise, I managed to get a write speed of 42MB/s and a read speed of 64MB/s for the drive using my 27″ iMac (Late 2012).
