I always wanted to get an unboxing knife after seeing all the U.S. YouTubers having their own personal unboxing knife.

Somehow when Amazon is having an [Gold Box Deals](https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox) for Kershaw’s knives, it sort of trigger my search for an unboxing knife.

The Gold Box deal is for [Kershaw Cryo II Pocket Knife](https://kershaw.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/cryo-ii), but sadly it doesn’t ship to Singapore directly, and freight forwarders like HopShopGo might not (depending on your luck) ship knives to Singapore.

I chanced upon [EDMW Knife Collectors](https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/hobby-lovers-229/edmw-knife-collectors-1902291.html) and some of them bought their knifes from [KnifeCenter](https://www.knifecenter.com) and they do ship directly to Singapore.

I ended up not getting Kershaw Cryo II as it is made in China.

I went for [Kershaw 1660 Ken Onion Leek Pocket Knife](https://kershaw.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/leek) which is made in the U.S. and within my budget of US$50 (S$70).

Kershaw Leek is retailing for US$44.95 (S$62) on [KnifeCenter](https://www.knifecenter.com/item/KS1660/kershaw-1660-ken-onion-leek-assisted-flipper-bead-blast-plain-blade-stainless-steel-handles) and shipping to Singapore is an additional US$14.44 (S$20) via USPS International First Class mail.

Kershaw Leek is an everyday carry (EDC) knife.

Kershaw Leek is ambidextrous, so it doesn’t matter whether you are left or right-handed. It features a SpeedSafe assisted opening system. SpeedSafe is a patented system that helps the user to smoothly open any SpeedSafe knife with a manual push on the blade’s thumb stud or pull back on the flipper.

There is a removable pocket clip on the knife where you can configure it for tip-up or tip-down carry. The default is tip-down. To switch it, just unscrew the two screws and rotate the pocket clip and screw it back.

If you prefer to hang the knife on a lanyard, you can do that too. There is a hole drilled into the handle of the knife for that purpose.
