Passport Pro – The Ultimate Global Travel Adapter

After a successful run with the Passport [1], Zendure is back again with an upgraded version of Passport, called, Passport Pro.

Passport Pro is the world’s first resettable grounded travel adapter with USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charging.

The project was also on Kickstarter [2] where it raised a total of US$124,851 out of the initial goal of US$30,000 from 2,817 backers.

I am pretty satisfied with the Passport because I do not need to bring a separate travel adapter when traveling. Hence, I wasn’t hesitant to back the Passport Pro immediately when I received the marketing email.

I managed to back the “Passport Pro Early Bird” reward level for US$29 (S$40) on 27th July 2018. And on 26th August 2018, the project was successfully funded.

My Passport Pro was shipped to me on 10th October 2018, and I received it on 15th October 2018. Shipping is free to Singapore. Out of the 51 projects that I backed on Kickstarter [3], Passport Pro is the only project that delivers within the promised timeframe as indicated in the reward level.

With Passport, Zendure pioneered the world’s first auto-resetting fuse on a travel adapter. When the fuse of the adapter blows, you will have to wait about a minute for the adapter to recover itself.

For the Passport Pro, Zendure improved on the fuse system by adding a push-button resetting fuse. So the moment your fuse is blown, you press the button to reset it.

Apart from the push-button resetting fuse, each of the four plugs in Passport Pro is equipped with a ground connection. The ground wire provides a path for the electricity to the ground instead of the device when a surge happens.

According to Zendure, Passport Pro is 16% smaller than Passport. It measures 68 x 49 x 66 mm and weighs 195 g.

Passport Pro has a maximum output of 30W. It has four USB ports. One USB-C PD and three USB-A ports.

The USB-C port supports up to 18W and can output 5V/3A, 9V/2A, or 12V/1.5A.

The combined output of the remaining three USB-A ports is 2.4A/12W.
