Bought an [Apple Pencil (2nd Generation)](https://lesterchan.net/blog/2018/11/16/apple-pencil-2nd-generation/) so that Li Xiang can draw on it as well. Decided to get the [Apple iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd Generation) (Space Grey 256GB) (Wi-Fi + Cellular)](https://www.apple.com/sg/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-pro/12.9-inch-display-256gb-space-grey-wifi-cellular) and it cost a whopping **S$1,939**. It is out of stock almost everywhere, and hence I waited nearly two weeks for it. Place the order on 7th November 2018, and I only received it on 19th November 2018. ## Coding You can use the iPad Pro for basic coding. Using apps like [Coda](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/coda/id500906297) (S$34.98) or [Textastic](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/textastic-code-editor-7/id1049254261) (S$14.98). If you need to use Git, you can use [Working Copy](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/working-copy/id896694807) (Free). If you need to SSH to your remote machine to code, you can use [Prompt](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/prompt-2/id917437289) (S$21.98). There is an upcoming app called [iSH](https://ish.app/) which gives you a sandboxed Linux shell access (Alpine) on iOS. I only use three apps for it. [YouTube](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/youtube-watch-listen-stream/id544007664) (Free), [Netflix](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/netflix/id363590051) (Free), and [Plex](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/plex/id383457673) (Free). ## Blogging For blogging, normally I will just use [Chrome](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/google-chrome/id535886823) (Free) and blog via WordPress’s WP-Admin or [Grammarly](https://app.grammarly.com/) web app. Not really a fan of the official [WordPress](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/wordpress/id335703880) (Free) app. I find it slow, buggy, and clunky. Most writing tools like [Bear](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/bear/id1016366447), [Ulysses](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/ulysses/id1225571038), and [Drafts](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/drafts-5-capture-act/id1236254471) have moved to a subscription model. Since I don’t really use it that often, I don’t find it necessary to subscribe to it. Another alternative I am considering is [iA Writer](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/ia-writer/id775737172). It only charges a one time fee of S$12.98 when buying the app. ## Drawing There are a lot of free apps for drawing since most of them are from big companies rather than independent/small companies. There is [Procreate](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/procreate/id425073498) (S$14.98), [Adobe Photoshop Sketch](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/adobe-photoshop-sketch/id839085644) (Free), [Adobe Illustrator Draw](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/adobe-illustrator-draw-scalable/id911156590) (Free), [Autodesk SketchBook](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/autodesk-sketchbook/id883738213) (Free), and [Paper](https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/paper-by-wetransfer/id506003812) (Free).
