Bought the [Logitech C920 Pro HD Webcam](https://www.logitech.com/en-sg/products/webcams/c920-pro-hd-webcam.960-000770.html) during Lazada’s Online Tech Show for **S$108.05**. The usual retail price is S$149. During the flash sale, it was discounted to S$119. After deducting Lazada’s voucher of S$5 and the shop’s voucher of 5% off (S$5.95), I ended up with S$108.05.

The upgraded model to this is the [Logitech C922 Pro Stream 1080p Webcam](https://www.logitech.com/en-sg/products/webcams/c922-pro-stream-webcam.960-001090.html) which was released back in 2016. Logitech C922 retails for S$199 on [Lazada](https://www.lazada.sg/products/logitech-c922-full-hd-pro-stream-webcam-with-background-replacement-feature-and-tripod-for-video-work-from-home-home-based-learning-video-call-i107596121-s110552539.html) while on [Hachi.tech](https://www.hachi.tech/cameras/cameras-m/web-cameras/logitech-c922-pro-stream-webcam0--0097855124302), it retails for S$159 as they are having a promotion.

When I googled, I only can find four differences between the Logitech C920 and Logitech C922.

- C922 can capture 720p at 60fps
- C922 comes with a capture software
- C922 is better in low light conditions
- C922 comes with a tripod

So all the above doesn’t really matter to me since I will be using it purely for work purposes (Zoom call), so I am happy with 1080p at 30 fps.

I heard the capture software is buggy and gimmicky, so I will probably not install it even if I got the C922. I will rely on Zoom’s settings instead.

My room has a lot of light, and I don’t need a low light feature since my calls are mostly in the afternoon, bright and sunny.

I have plenty of small tripods at home, and since Logitech C920 also comes with a tripod mount, I can use any tripod on it as well.

I decided to save the S$50 and go with the Logitech C920 instead.

I think this camera has been in the market since 2012, which explains the USB-A connection rather than USB-C.

Both Logitech C920 and Logitech C922 support tripod mounting but only Logitech C922 comes with a free tripod in the packaging.

There are many ways you can adjust the mounting angle on the Logitech C920.

Previously, if you read my [Our Play & Work From Home Setup](https://lesterchan.net/blog/2020/04/06/our-play-work-from-home-setup/), you will notice that all our computers are only in one room, hence, both Li Xiang and I will not be able to work together inside a room as we need to take calls from time to time.

So all this while, I have been working in the Living Room where I can open my MacBook Pro easily if I need to access the webcam.

But since I have shifted my standing desk to another room and using the Razer Core X to support my triple monitors, I need a dedicated webcam.

It is a hassle to disconnect my eGPU and use my MacBook Pro webcam. Because when I do that, the applications I used will crash, even though I “safely remove the eGPU”.
