Have not been playing much with gadgets in May; rather, I have been playing with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/product/claude-code).

I have been using Claude Code at work for many months, and I only recently subscribed to [Claude Pro](https://claude.ai/upgrade) for personal usage. Opting to go with the monthly plan at S$30 instead of the annual plan at S$300.

Like most users, I vibecoded an iOS app with no Swift knowledge, and the results surprised me. The app is a blog reader for lesterchan.net, with a search, bookmarks, and analytics.

It took me about 3 days, working within the Pro session limit, to get a functioning build good enough to consider releasing.

Of course, I don’t intend to release it just yet because I would have to pay Apple US$99 (S$127) a year to be on their Developer Program. Maybe I will in the future, but not now.

I also took this opportunity to clean up some of my tech debt in my private repositories, write tests for this site, and automate some build processes, all by just asking Claude to handle them.

All these for just S$30 a month. Jobs will get fewer, humans will get lazier, and agencies and freelancers that design websites, build apps, and do copywriting will all be sunset industries in a few years.

That said, as industries get displaced, new ones are formed. There is already a market for teaching people how to vibecode properly and for Vibecode cleaners (people who come in after the AI spits out a working but messy codebase and make it production-ready).

Until AI can take responsibility for its actions, humans will still need to be there to take the blame.
