Slightly more than a month after Apple Pay for AMEX launches in Singapore, Apple Pay for VISA and MasterCard holders are finally available in Singapore.
Unfortunately, not all banks are on the list. For the initial roll out only credit cards from these five banks are supported: POSB, DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, United Overseas Bank (UOB) and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).
After the announcement in last October, Apple Pay is finally in Singapore and the first credit card that supports it is Amercian Express.
Support for VISA and MasterCard will be available soon.
Apple Pay will be officially available in Singapore alongside Hong Kong and Spain next year, 2016, for American Express’s card holders.
This was first mentioned by Tim Cook during Apple’s Q4 2015 Earnings Call.
If you have a US credit or debit card, you can use it with Apple Pay in Singapore. You don’t need to have an US iTunes Account or behind an US IP.
Just go to Settings -> General -> Language & Region -> Region and choose United States.
