Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Key Fob Remote
I bought the Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote for £38.33 (S$69) (excluding shipping) together with the Aeon Labs Aeotec Minimote from Vesternet.
You can get it locally as well from Automate Asia for S$90.
The Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Key Fob Remote is similar to the Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Minimote except that it is more portable as it is meant to go together with your keys.
It also comes with 4 buttons that allows you to control up to 8 scenes. It is powered by a replaceable lithium cell CR2450 3v battery.
Not many places in Singapore sell CR2450 batteries. So if you want to buy some CR2450 batteries, I would recommend you to head over to Unicell which is located in Sim Lim Square (#02-40/41).
I am trying to find the Z-Wave equivalent of SmartThings Arrival Sensor. Unfortunately, this key fob is the closest I could find.
I have an IFTTT recipe to send a call to Fibaro Home Center to indicate I am home when I am about to reach home.
The recipe sets a global variable on Fibaro Home Center. In my case, it sets HomeMode to “In” from “Out”.
If that calls fails, I will be using this remote as a backup to set the variable. I need to be near my door to do this as it needs to be in the range of my Z-Wave network.
