Momax Q.Power UV-Box
Momax is a mobile phone accessories maker founded in Hong Kong in 2004. One of their product is the Momax Q.Power UV-Box. The Momax Q.Power UV-Box is a UV Sanitizing Box that comes with wireless charging.
It retails for S$79.90 on Lazada.
During Lazada’s 8th birthday, there is a flash sale on it, bringing down the price to S$69.90. I have an additional S$6 Lazada voucher, so I ended up paying S$63.90 for it.
PhoneSoap is probably the original. The PhoneSoap Pro cost about S$200 with shipping to Singapore, and it is already back-ordered till May 2020.
Casetify also come out with their own UV Sanitizer. It is about S$170 with free shipping worldwide. It is also back-ordered till the end of April 2020.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people will realize that their mobile phones are probably the dirtiest device they have on them, probably 10 Times Dirtier Than a Toilet Seat.
I guess it is a good time to invest in a UV sanitizing box that can sanitize your mobile phone.
The Momax Q.Power UV-Box probably fits in most people’s budgets, and it has readily available stocks on Lazada.

There is no way for me to check if this works without the proper equipment. Momax attached a copy of a report from Guangzhou Testing Center of Industrial Microbiology dated 17th August 2018.
The report mentioned that the Momax Q.Power UV-Box could kill 99.9% of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli (E. coli) within 18 minutes and kill 99.9% of Candida albicans within 30 minutes.
So I guess we have to trust Momax on this. Besides, there is nothing to lose except for the S$79.90 (S$63.90 for me).
If you like, the device also has a built-in aroma diffuser. You can add a droplet of essential oil while sanitizing.
Momax Q.Power UV-Box uses UV-C. UV-C is a short-wavelength ultraviolet light that can kill microorganisms. The technical term is called Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation. Do note that there is no scientific proof that UV-C can kill the Coronavirus.
There are two UV-C lamps, one on each end of the Momax Q.Power UV-Box.
As a safety feature, once the lid is open, the sanitizing will stop. Once the cover is close back, it will resume sanitizing.
I wish the wireless charging feature is inside the box rather than outside, so your mobile phone can be charged while sanitizing.
You can choose from either 18 or 30 minutes of sanitization. 18 minutes is quick sanitization, and 30 minutes is full sanitization. I always go for full sanitization. Once the sanitization is done, the Momax Q.Power UV-Box will let out a soft triple beep sound.
There are three colors to the LED indicator. Red means it is wireless charging, green means it is doing a quick sanitization and blue means it is doing a full sanitization.
