Aqara TVOC Air Quality Monitor
Aqara TVOC Air Quality Monitor is another sensor from Aqara that can measure the temperature, humidity, and TVOC.
TVOC stands for Total Volatile Organic Compounds. TVOC groups a wide range of organic chemical compounds to simplify reporting when these are present in ambient air or emissions.
Prolonged exposure to VOCs can be harmful to your health. I bought this to monitor the air quality within my renovated house, as the newly installed carpentry gives off chemical compounds into the air.
It comes with a 3M tape mount and a magnetic mount. So you can choose to mount it on normal or magnetic surfaces.
Aqara TVOC Air Quality Monitor is about three times more expensive than the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor. It is retailing at S$69.90 on Souky’s Lazada Store, but it is currently out of stock.
One of the reasons it is expensive is that it also comes with an e-ink display that allows you to see all three readings without opening any app.
It is powered by two CR2450 batteries that will give you up to one year of battery life on paper.
Pairing is straightforward. Press the reset button at the top of the sensor for 8 seconds.
After that, you can add the device to the Aqara app.
Unlike air pressure, Apple Home supports air quality readings. So, all three readings will appear in the Aqara and Apple Home app.
