Anker's USB-C cable naming is famously confusing, spanning many series. Only three support 240W charging: Anker Prime, Anker Zolo, and the standard Anker line. A look at which one offers the best value for fast charging.
Charging on the Tesla Model 3 Highland's wireless pad runs slow and hot, so I prefer its USB-C ports, which output up to 65W. The Anker 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C 140W cable suits charging phones quickly inside the car.
Verbatim Tough Max cables wrap a pure copper core in DuPont Kevlar Aramid fibre and a double-layered nylon braid for exceptional durability. The 21AWG core enables faster charging and stable data, reinforcing the weak connector joint.
The Belkin BoostCharge USB-C to USB-C Cable delivers up to 240W via USB PD 3.1's Extended Power Range. The thicker braided cable comes in black and white, in 1m and 2m lengths.
The Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable retails for S$45, or S$37 at authorised resellers. With it out of stock everywhere, I spotted it listed on Amazon.sg Fresh, which tracks inventory separately.
My second Moshi Integra cable, the USB-C Cable comes in 1m and 2m lengths. Made in Taiwan with anodised aluminium ends, it retails for S$44; I wish they made a 25cm version.
Moshi Integra is the brand's braided cable line. I have the USB-C to Lightning Cable in 25cm, the perfect on-the-go length for linking a power bank to my phone. MFi-certified and made in Taiwan, it retails for S$43.
Verbatim, a name I last associated with floppy disks, has moved into mobile accessories. Its Sync & Charge USB-C Cable retails for S$24.90, with a tough nylon-braided exterior, second only to my Nomad cable.
I got the 1m Ugreen Braided USB-C to USB-C Cable (100W) from Lazada for S$14.45. Available only in black, in 1m and 2m lengths, I ordered it alongside the 50cm USB-C to Lightning cable.
I bought the 50cm Ugreen Braided USB-C to Lightning Cable from Lazada for S$13.77. Ugreen makes high-quality cables cheaply, and at that price it's among the cheapest braided MFi USB-C to Lightning cables you'll find.
The Energea FibraTough USB-C to Lightning Cable is one of Energea's braided cables. It retails for S$29.90 in five colours, comes only in a 1.5m length, and supports up to 60W.
The Anker Powerline+ II is Anker's second MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning cable, after the Powerline II. The only real difference is the exterior: the Powerline+ II uses nylon braid versus the Powerline II's TPE, both with reinforced strength.
I bought the Anker Powerline II USB-C to Lightning Cable from Amazon for US$17.99, available in black and white. This Powerline II uses a TPE casing; I'm hoping Anker brings it to the nylon-braided Powerline+ II series.
I'd wanted the Nomad Universal Cable, the only rugged 3-in-1 supporting Lightning, USB-C, and Micro-USB. Its core USB-A to Micro-USB cable adds MFi Lightning and USB-C tips, wrapped in braided 500D ballistic nylon.
The OKPOW USB Type-C Cable is a 1m USB-C to USB-A cable retailing for US$12.99 on Amazon, which doesn't ship to Singapore directly. Based on USB 2.0, it has gold-plated ends and a durable nylon-braided exterior.
The iOrange-E USB Type-C Cable is one of Benson Leung's recommended USB-A to USB-C cables. It comes in gold, silver, and black, each in three lengths, 0.5m, 2m, and 3m. Prices have crept up since his endorsement.
