HP’s TouchPad and the end of webOS.
At HP's Booth 8428 Direct Counter, the 16GB and 32GB HP TouchPads sell for S$118 and S$188 respectively, before GST, during the first two days of Comex 2011, 1st to 2nd September. Just 100 units of each are available daily.
Just last month, HP announced the TouchPad's Singapore availability at S$699 for 16GB, and today they've announced they're killing WebOS. What a turnaround. I wonder whether they'll clear the existing TouchPads at a discount, since I wouldn't mind one cheaply.
Palm was doomed once HP bought it in April 2010, and now it's officially dead: HP has dropped the Palm name and launched three new webOS devices, the Veer, Pre 3 and TouchPad.
