Apple USB-C Charge Cable (2m)
The Apple USB Type-C Cable is retailing for S$42 and comes in only one length which is 2m. I wish they have it in 0.5m and 1m as well.
There are no markings on the USB ends on the cable because there is no need to since it has a reversible plug orientation. This is similar to the Apple Lighting cable as there is no marking on the Lightning end of that cable as well.
The cable might be a little pricey for a USB Type-C to USB Type-C, but I think it is still reasonable as you can get it easily in stores. To compare, Google’s USB Type-C Cable is retailing for US$19.99 (S$29) but that excludes shipping to Singapore.
USB Type-C to USB Type-C cables are still new to the market so unlikely the price will go down to the price point of the Micro-USB cable anytime soon.
Both Apple and Google USB Type-C cables are USB 2.0 which means the data transfer is capped at USB 2.0 speed of 480Mb/s.
I am sure eventually, they will come out with a USB 3.1 USB Type-C cable at the same price.
