Belkin Valet – Charge Dock For Apple Watch & iPhone
Belkin Valet – Charge Dock for Apple Watch & iPhone is an exclusive item available to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers. It is retailing for S$194 in Singapore and is available in three colors, Silver, Rose Gold and Black. If I am not wrong, Rose Gold and Black might be an Apple Online Store exclusive.
It is expensive for a dock, and I will probably not get it unless it is an impulse buy, which is what I did.
Just came back from Bangkok, Thailand, over the weekends and I purchased the Belkin Valet from iStudio at Siam Paragon. It is retailing for TH฿5790 (S$234) which is S$40 more expensive that in Singapore. There is a tax refund of TH฿378.79 out of which I took back only TH฿250 (S$10) in cash as there is a processing fee involved.
The Belkin Valet allows you to charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time using a single power cable. The power adapter outputs 1.6A and comes with three interchangeable plug adapters, UK 3-Pin, US 2-Pin and China 2-Pin.
If you are using a case with your iPhone, the Belkin Valet has that covered as well with an adjustable Lightning connector. You can adjust the position of the Lightning connector on the dock by rotating the dial located at the back of the dock. It should fit most cases in the market. I am using the Apple iPhone 7 Plus Silicone, and the Lightning connector at the closest position works just fine.
There is a white plastic accessory called the Watch Band Support that you can attach to the Apple Watch charger. This accessory allows better support for flexible Apple Watch bands like the Milanese Loop or the Link Bracelet.
Overall, I find the Belkin Valet solid and heavy which makes it very stable. I like that when the iPhone is docked, it can lean on the stand and that provides extra support to the phone, thus removing the strain on the Lightning connector.
