The Klipsch Reference X12i was launched in Singapore on November 2015 and the recommended retail price is S$599.
The X12i is the successor to the X11i which was launched in August 2013, and the X11i was the successor to the X10i which was launched in January 2010.
The X12i is an in-ear earphones that weighs only 15g and has a milled aluminum chassis with less than 6mm in diameter.
It features a single custom KG-926 balanced armature driver that allows itself to achieve a full range response.
The packaging comes with four different sizes pair of patented oval ear tips, one pair of foam tips, carrying case and a clothing clip.
Previously, I was using the Klipsch Image X10 which I bought from Amazon during their Cyber Monday’s Gold Box deals five years ago.
When compared with the X10, the design and packaging of the X12i felt more premium. Particularly with the dark translucent housing of the copper and black wires of the earphones.
The only thing I like about the X10 is the hard earphone case that comes with it as compared to the soft carrying pouch of the X12i.
I love the bass from Klipsch earphones, and the X12i is no exception. When listening to the song, David Guetta – Titanium ft. Sia, on the X12i, the bass produced is strong and doesn’t crack under loud volume.
