Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII Anti-Theft Cross Body Pack
Last November, when I was traveling to Munich, Germany, for the launch of the Huawei Mate 9, I met Kien Lee, who is the founder of Senatus.
He recommended me the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII Anti-Theft Cross Body Pack. At that time, I wasn’t looking for a new travel bag as I was using the Crumpler Bag Dry Red No. 2 Sling Bag for most of my travelings.
Sling bags can be cumbersome sometimes and hence I switched to the Head Porter Monogram Black Beauty New Waist Bag. Despite it being a waist bag, I am using it as a cross body bag.
The Head Porter waist bag also has its flaws, it is too bulky, and the front pockets are too exposed.
I decided to revisit the idea of buying the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII.
I checked out Amazon, and it was retailing for US$79.95 (S$110) with free shipping to Singapore if your order is above US$125. The bad news is that it is no longer available. I am not sure whether the model is phasing out as I could not find this model on the official Pacsafe website as well.
In Singapore, The Planet Traveller sells Pacsafe bags, and the retail price of Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII is S$133. I did not buy it immediately as I don’t need urgently. Also, it is cheaper on Amazon.
On 18th July 2017, while I was heading to Marina Square for lunch, I chanced upon The Planet Traveller Fair at Marina Square’s central atrium. The fair was from 18th to 30th July 2017.
They had a discount for almost all Pacsafe bags, and after discount, the retail price of the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII was only S$93. Of course, I bought it, since it is cheaper than Amazon.
There is also another similar model name called the Pacsafe Vibe 325 Anti-Theft Cross Body Pack. It is bigger and has all the features of the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII. The only difference I can find is the way the zippers are secured (I prefer the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII).
Features
The Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 GII features eXomesh slashguard. It is essentially built-in stainless steel wire mesh panels. This prevents your items from falling out of your bag if a thief cuts it.
The shoulder strap has been reinforced with stainless steel wires as well, and that prevents it from being cut by a thief.
There is a pocket in the front compartment which is RDIDsafe; you can put your passport and credit cards inside it to prevent high tech identity thieves from stealing your information. The RDIDsafe pocket will block frequencies from 10MHz to 3GHz.
The zippers of the bag can be secured as well. The zipper pullers can be attached to a discreet security hook, and that prevents pickpockets from reaching into your bag.
