Nomad Universal Cable
I always wanted to get the Nomad Universal Cable as it is the only rugged 3-in-1 cable that supports Lightning, USB-C, and Micro USB.
The core cable is USB-A to Micro USB with two attached tips, an MFi certified Lightning tip and a USB-C tip.
The cable wiring is wrapped in a braided ballistic 500D nylon. The material was initially developed to protect military forces from shrapnel and bullet.
There are two lengths to the Nomad Universal Cable, 1.5m, and 0.3m.
On Nomad’s website, the 1.5m cable is retailing for US$34.95 (S$48) while the 0.3m cable is retailing for US$29.95 (S$41).
You can get a 10% discount using the NOMAD10 coupon code. Sometimes for special occasions, Nomad will offer a 15% or 20% discount code.
The shipping cost to Singapore via USPS cost US$19.95 (S$28).
If we were to get a 20% discount, the 1.5m cable would cost US$27.96 (S$38), and if you add in shipping, the cable will cost US$47.91 (S$66).
I chanced upon the Nomad Universal Cable (1.5m) at e-mart in Time Square, South Korea. For the unaware, e-mart is the largest retailer in South Korea.
The cable is retailing for ₩56,900 (S$69) including tax. And since, I am a tourist; I can get an immediate tax refund which is what I love about South Korea.
After removing the tax, I paid ₩53,900 (S$65) which is about the same price if you were to get from Nomad directly including shipping.
