Choetech 15W Wireless Charger Stand is a no-frills wireless charging stand that is targetted at the value for money crowd. As the whole charging stand is made of plastic, don’t expect it to look and feel premium.
Despite containing two wireless coils to support portrait or landscape use of the phone, the only use case for landscape mode is for watching videos. Though you still to unlock your phone via Face ID in portrait mode and rotate it back to landscape mode.
It is difficult to game on your phone while wirelessly charging in landscape mode as the ergonomics is just weird. You are better off using a wired connection for charging if you intend to game.
This is my first wireless charger in the form of a charging stand. All my previous wireless chargers are flat like a charging pad.
I think wireless charging pad looks more beautiful as it is more minimalistic. However, it is not as functional as you can’t wireless charge and use your phone at the same time.
This is where a wireless charging stand comes in handy. It allows me to unlock the screen via Face ID and use the phone while it remains charging.
I am using it in the office where I need to check my phone often for SMS One-Time Password (OTP) when doing debugging. Previously, I was using the Choetech USB-C Dual 5W Wireless Charging Pad.
