Sum Dial Wireless Charger
Sum Dial Wireless Charger is a premium Qi certified 10W wireless charging from Sum Products. In Singapore, the Sum Dial Wireless Charger is being sold at Synced by District which is located at 68 Orchard Road, #03-65, Plaza Singapura, Singapore 238839.
Synced is a new generation tech store focused on building exciting experiences around a curation of alternative and innovative tech brands whereas District provides brands with a turnkey, scalable offline store infrastructure to manage and power their physical operations.
Sum Dial Wireless Charger retails for S$115. Given the price, I would say it feels very premium. Probably the most premium wireless charger that I have owned.
The main selling point of the Sum Dial Wireless Charger is the design, which is known as the “Infinite Rotation System.” This allows you to twist the Dial in any direction you like freely.
In the packaging, it comes with a braided 2m USB-A to USB-C cable. The cable is too long for my liking for a wireless charger. At least for the price, it includes a braided cable rather than a regular one.
The body of the wireless charger is made of machined anodized aluminum with silicone rubber on the Dial and at the bottom of the charger.
The proprietary blend of silicone rubber is unique. It sticks your mobile phone to the charger and prevents the charger from moving on the table, yet the surface of the rubber is not sticky.
It supports 7.W and 10W fast wireless charging, but you need to use it with a Quick Charge (QC) 2.0/3.0 charger. Given the price, you might have thought that they will include a charger inside.
If you order it from the U.S., it will include a USB-C 18W charger. However, Sum Products didn’t manage to get a certification for the charger, and hence for the Singapore market, they remove it and reduce the retail price.
It measures 4.7 x 8 x 8 (cm) and weighs 272g (which is heavy for a wireless charger). To counter the stickiness of the silicone rubber, I think the weight of it can be even heavier. I can easily lift the Sum Dial Wireless Charger when it is stuck to my mobile phone.
Being OCD, sometimes, I can’t tell whether the Dial is perfectly aligned with the base. I wish it can include some indicator on the Dial and the base at the 0° and 180° mark so that I can align it nicely.
