Apple Wallet Express Mode, which lets you tap to pay without unlocking or authenticating, now works at some MRT stations in Singapore. I tested it successfully at Cantonment MRT Station on my iPhone.

Cantonment MRT Station (CC31) Finally Opens
Cantonment MRT station (CC31) opens on 12th July 2026, completing the Circle Line loop. Construction started in 2017, was delayed by COVID-19, and after 42 years of living in Singapore, I finally have an MRT station within walking distance.

About time! By end July 2011, consumers will enjoy significantly faster smartphone surfing inside MRT tunnels. The Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts told Parliament that Singapore's three telcos must complete the network installation by then.
