2 weeks ago, I was helping Li Xiang to look for eneloop rechargeable batteries for her office but to my surprise, I could not find any at all at all major electronics stores in Funan and VivoCity. I was wondering did they leave the Singapore market or their batteries sell so well that all the stores are out of stock (I was hoping the later). Many of my friends and I love eneloop batteries!
But luckily, it was just temporarily out of stock (I hope) and when I went back to Funan’s Challenger last week, there was plenty of stocks!
Last week on the 12th December 2012, eneloop announced two new limited-edition ‘eneloop tones’ rechargeable battery packs. The eneloop uomo for men in enigmatic shades of purple, grey, black and white; and eneloop rouge for women in scintillating hues of pink.
There are 8 glittering AA batteries in each Eneloop Glitter pack and each battery has a capacity of 1,900mAh (1.2V) and can approximately last through 1,800 recharge cycles. The batteries are capable of retaining 70% capacity even after five years of storage.
The Sanyo Eneloop Black Charger Set BC-MQR06 is the latest product from Eneloop. Each Black Charger Set comprises of 4 AA size of eneloop XX rechargeable batteries and an eneloop Black Charger in a sleek black and silver design. It is retailing for S$65.90 at all Best Denki outlets, Meidi-Ya Supermarket, all Selffix D.I.Y store outlets, Sprint-Cass at Terminal 2 and 3, and selected outlets of Harvey Norman and Challenger.
The eneloop XX batteries have a high capacity of a 2,500mAh cell which is suitable for high power consumption gadgets like digital cameras and DSLR photoflash units. It also provides longer battery life than standard alkaline batteries and gives you up to 500 rechargeable cycles.
The recommended retail price (RRP) for the KBC-L2S is S$69.90, but I got it for S$57 from ebay and paid additional S$2 for delivery. The seller name is Desmond Han (tecpoint2139). His service is excellent and efficient, I ordered at 10pm on Friday, 9th January 2010 and it was delivered to me at 1pm on Saturday, 10th January 2010! That is less than 24 hours and furthermore it is on a weekend! In the Eneloop paper bag, there are several goodies as well like the Eneloop 2010 calendar and the Eneloop Product Catalogue.
Bought the Sanyo Eneloop Mobile Booster KBC-E1S for S$34.90 (member price) from Challenger. Need the extra battery juice for my iPhone 3GS when I am in Taiwan and Hong Kong!
I was deciding between the KBC-E1S and the KBC-L3S. The KBC-E1S uses 2x AA batteries while the KBC-L3S uses the built-in lithium-ion battery. I was thinking that AA batteries are more readily available outside and hence I am able to buy any AA batteries and use it to charge my phone. Also the KBC-E1S includes 2 rechargeable eneloop batteries.
