Surge protectors and power strips.
Turning on my new computer tripped my main circuit breaker, and the PC wouldn't power on afterwards, likely a fried PSU. To guard against future surges, I picked up the Belkin Economy Series 4-Socket Surge Protector.
The Belkin SurgeCube 1 Outlet Surge Protector with two shared 2.4A USB ports retails for S$59, discounted to S$39 at IT Show 2018. I'd wanted a UK plug adapter with USB charging and built-in surge protection.
I bought the SoundTeoh Tower Socket With 9 Outlets from Home-Fix at Ion Orchard for S$69.90. Its tower design is a great space saver, and with nine sockets you'll no longer need multi-plug adapters. There's also an eight-outlet variant available.
With my cable Internet contract expiring, I'm switching to Fibre before 24th August 2011. With no Fibre Termination Point in my room, the gateway must move to the living room. To ease the move, I got the Belkin Surge Protector.
