Mova P50 Ultra Review
Dasher sent me the Mova P50 Ultra robot vacuum, from the same group as Dreame. It comes in two variants: the P50 Ultra at S$699 and the Pro Ultra at S$999, the latter adding a liftable roller brush and auto-detergent.
Home appliances I have tested, led by robot vacuums and the odd water heater.
Dasher sent me the Mova P50 Ultra robot vacuum, from the same group as Dreame. It comes in two variants: the P50 Ultra at S$699 and the Pro Ultra at S$999, the latter adding a liftable roller brush and auto-detergent.
The Roborock Dyad Air is the mid-range model in Roborock's Dyad wet-and-dry vacuum series, retailing for S$499.90. At S$200 less than the Dyad Pro, it drops to a single roller and loses the automatic cleaning-solution dispenser.
A longtime Ariston user, I chose the Slim2 Lux-D Wi-Fi, a 'smart' water storage heater unlike the dumb Andris Lux I had to wire up myself. It launched in Singapore in April 2023.
The Roborock Q Revo is the brand's first robot vacuum with a spinning mop, moving away from the sonic VibraRise system. Its dual mops spin up to 200 RPM and lift 7mm for vacuuming.
Dreame splits its cordless vacuums into confusing V, R, and T series. The R20 seems to blend the best of the V12 Pro and T30 flagships, and like the T series it features a removable battery.
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the flagship, retailing for S$1,769.90 in black or white. The robot offers 6,000Pa suction, dual roller brushes, and VibraRise 2.0 mopping, with the Pro Ultra adding an all-in-one dock.
The Roborock S8 is the successor to the popular S7 I bought two years ago. It retails for S$799.90, with a 4/4 flash sale dropping it to S$749.90, adding DuoRoller brushes and 6,000Pa suction.
My Hario V60 drip scale was laggy and bulky for weighing espresso shots, so I went endgame with the Acaia Lunar. Listed at US$250, I bought it from Daily Grind Supply for S$379.
Starting espresso, the first lesson was to get a good grinder, and the Niche Zero is the default. At £499 plus shipping, GST, and fees, it cost me about S$1,015, cheaper than buying locally.
The Dreame H12 Pro is a 3-in-1 wet and dry vacuum, adding self-cleaning over the standard H12. Launching 11th November 2022 at S$729, early-bird pricing dropped it to S$649, or S$614 with the code DREALESTE.
The DreameBot L10s Ultra is Dreame's flagship robot cleaner. Dreame is part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, distributed exclusively in Singapore by Dasher. It retails for S$1,599, Shopee-exclusive until end September 2022, with early-bird pricing lower.
The Roborock G10 launched in Singapore on 7th July 2022 with an RRP of S$1,699, though double-digit sales days routinely bring it far lower, to around S$999.90 on both Shopee and Lazada.
The Roborock Q7 Max launches the mid-range Q series, sitting between the S and E lines. It is the successor to the S5 Max and retails for S$699, known in some markets as the T7 Max.
After getting my Roborock S7, I wanted the Auto-Empty Dock, but it was perpetually out of stock. Checking daily finally paid off when Shopee restocked it on 29th December 2021, and I bought it for S$481.90.
FOREO is a Swedish beauty-tech brand best known for its LUNA facial cleansing massagers. I discovered it has electric toothbrushes too, under the ISSA line. The ISSA 3 is its third-generation adult toothbrush, retailing for S$246.
My first Singles' Day buy was the Roborock S7 to replace my nearly five-year-old iRobot Roomba 980. Against an RRP of S$799, an 11/11 flash sale and stacked vouchers brought my price down to just S$598.47.
My second Koncept Z-Bar LED Desk Lamp, after one I've used for over eight years. Sole distributor Bridgemen kindly sent me the Z-Bar (AR3000) along with a desk clamp and occupancy sensor to feature here.
I bought the ILife Shinebot W450 from Lazada for S$249.99, down from its S$320 retail after 8/8 sale discounts and vouchers. It's a single-purpose mopping robot, so unlike most robot cleaners it doesn't vacuum at all.
I picked up the ORIA Digital Hygrometer Thermometer Display during a Lazada flash sale for S$9.20. It reads temperatures from -10 to 50°C and humidity from 10% to 99%, running on two AAA batteries.
After nearly three years, my Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart toothbrush died, refusing to power on despite charging. Rather than replace like-for-like, I opted for the cheaper Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 as my new electric toothbrush.
The Close Comfort Cool Focus is a personal air conditioner designed to cool people rather than a whole room, like a fan on steroids. From an Australian-Singapore startup, it retails for S$649 and draws around 300W.
Turning on my new computer tripped my main circuit breaker, and the PC wouldn't power on afterwards, likely a fried PSU. To guard against future surges, I picked up the Belkin Economy Series 4-Socket Surge Protector.
