Funko Pop!
The start of my LEGO purchases is the start of my toy collection for my new house which will be coming end of next year (2015). I have started to collect some Funko Pop toys.
Funko is a pop culture licensed-focused toy company located in Everett, WA. Funko currently holds more than 150 licenses including, but not limited to; Lucas Films, Marvel, Hasbro, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, DC Comics, NBA, Sanrio, and Disney. Funko’s Pop! Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible in the world with over 10 million units sold in the last three years.
In Singapore, the official distributor for Funko products is Simply Toys (FUNKO Singapore’s Facebook Page). They do carry lots of Funko Pop products but not everything due to the rare and exclusively of some. Some of them are out of stock as well and you probably have to wait 2-4 weeks for them to restock.
The retail price of a normal Funko Pop figure is S$18.90 and if you are a member of Simply Toys, it is only S$15.90. To be a member of Simply Toy for a year, just accumulate S$300 worth of receipts at Simply Toys. There is no time limit or number of combined receipts.
On Amazon, the retail price of a normal Funko Pop figure is about US$10 (S$13) and some of them do ship to Singapore as part of the free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping.
My Funko Pop collection is from Simply Toys, eBay and Amazon.
Funko Pop – Dragon Ball Z
There are actually six figures in the Funko Pop – Dragon Ball Z collection.
- #90: Goku
- #10: Vegeta
- #11: Piccolo
- #12: Frieza (Final Form)
- #13: Perfect Cell
- #14: Super Saiyan Goku
Since Goku is an exclusive item, I got mine from eBay from a seller named superman6540 for US$72.32 (S$93.50) (inclusive of shipping).
For Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza and Perfect Cell you can get them from Simply Toys or Amazon. I got Frieza and Perfect Cell from Amazon for US$10.31 (S$13.34) and US$10.99 (S$14.21) respectively. They are shipped using free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping. For Vegeta and Piccolo, I got them from Simply Toys for S$18.90 each.
For Super Saiyan Goku, it is not exclusive item but rather it is rare, so you have to get it from eBay or Amazon. I got mine from an Amazon’s seller, Toystop for US$14.95 (S$19.33). They are shipped along my other items to a freight forwarder, HopShopGo.
Funko Pop – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Funko Pop – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection is pretty huge and there are lots of rare and exclusive figures that are almost impossible to get. Hence for this collection, I only collected the normal ones which contains ten figures.
- #60: Donatello
- #61: Raphael
- #62: Michelangelo
- #63: Leonardo
- #64: Splinter
- #140: April O’Neil
- #141: Foot Soldier
- #142: Bebop
- #143: Rocksteady
- #05: Turtle Van
For Donatello and Michelangelo, I got it from an Amazon’s seller, Toystop for US$12 (S$15.51) and US$12.96 (S$16.75) respectively. Similar to Super Saiyan Goku above, they are shipped along my other items to a freight forwarder, HopShopGo.
For Rocksteady, I bought it directly from Amazon for US$9.77 (S$12.63). Despite it qualifies for free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping, I don’t have enough in my cart that adds up to US$125 and hence I shipped it to my freight forwarder, HopShopGo, as well.
The reason I got the above three items from Amazon is because they are out of stock at Simply Toys and Simply Toys is not sure when the stock will come in because it depends on their supplier.
The rest of the items (Raphael, Leonardo, Splinter, April O’Neil, Foot Soldier and Bebop) I got it from Simply Toys for S$18.90 each. For the Turtle Van, I also got it from Simply Toys for S$49.90.
Funko Pop – Gunter
Because my wife, Lay Hiang, loves Penguin, I bought her this Gunter character at Simply Toys for S$18.90 (thanks to my friend, Benjamin Eng, for the heads up). Gunter is a character from Adventure Time which is an American animated television series created for Cartoon Network.
