Mounting Nest Cam Outdoors
I am intending to mount my Nest Cam outside my new house. If you are like me and intend to mount it outside, you would probably need three Nest Cam accessories.
Unfortunately, all three accessories doesn’t ship to Singapore directly from Amazon and hence you have to use a freight forwarder like HopShopGo.
Dropcessories makes pretty good accessories for Nest Cam and you can get them from Amazon as well.
Two accessories from Dropcessories that I bought from Amazon are the Dropcases Nest Cam Case Outdoor Enclosure and Black Ball Joint Wall Mount for Dropcases. Each of then cost US$29.90 (S$43).
The third accessory is the 20ft (6m) USB Power Cable for Nest Cam (US$7.99/S$12) which is optional because the bundled 3m USB Power Cable might be long enough for some use cases. But regardless, I bought it just in case.
Nest Cam Case Outdoor Enclosure
The Dropcases Nest Cam Case Outdoor Enclosure is just a case for your Nest Cam. It doesn’t come with the wall mount.
The case is weatherproof and comes in black. It has 100% night vision capacity and allow air ventilation flow. A special polarizing lens with an anti-reflection ring gives your camera crystal clear video footage when in day and night vision mode.
Black Ball Joint Wall Mount
Because the casing doesn’t come with a wall mount, you need to buy it separately. The Black Ball Joint Wall Mount for Dropcases obviously is just a wall mount and doesn’t come with a case.
This wall mount allows you to rotate and extend your viewing angle up to a further 270°. The mount is produced with heavy duty and sturdy metal materials which makes it durable.
20ft (6m) USB Power Cable for Nest Cam
The default box contents for Nest Cam come with a 3m long USB Power Cable. It should be long enough for most use cases, but I just bought it anyway in case I need a longer cable.
This cable is 20ft or 6m in length and comes in either white or black color. I chose white because it is less obvious with a white wall despite the Nest Cam is black in color.
