VAIO Returns To Singapore With VAIO S Series Laptops
After a four years hiatus, VAIO is back in Singapore with their new VAIO S Series Laptops.
In Asia, the brand VAIO is being licensed by Hong Kong-based Nexstgo. The same company who owns AVITA laptops.
For a start, VAIO S Series will be available exclusively at the VAIO shop at Bugis Junction and the
VAIO Showcase at Clarke Quay Central (opening in September 2018).
At launch, there are two models in the VAIO S Series. VAIO S11 and VAIO S13. VAIO S11 retails from S$2,299 while VAIO S13 retails from S$2,199. Both models max out at $3,099.
The laptops are made in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. And that also explains the slightly higher price.
Besides the screen size, dimensions, and weight, the only two differences between them are the color availability and build materials.

I think the hexagonal design and the ports are a little dated in 2018. It has a VGA port but no USB-C ports?
Some features worth mentioning are the VAIO TruePerformance technology, tilted and anti-spill keyboard.
It is said that the VAIO TruePerformance when enabled, will increase the laptop CPU performance by 11% to 13%.
The technology optimizes the architecture of the heat sink, thus maintaining higher performance for more extended periods of time by increasing CPU power limits while efficiently eliminating processor heat.
When the laptop is open, the hinge of the screen will automatically make the keyboard tilted. This makes it easier to type while reducing palm and wrist stress.
Also, the keyboard has undergone stringent tests to ensure that no hardware damage is caused by drink spills of up to 150ml.
