I have no issues using this charger with a hard plastic case on my AirPods Pro.
You can’t use your iPad Pro and charge your AirPods at the same time using this charger unless the iPad Pro lays flat on the table while you are using it.
Typically, the MacBook will be placed flat on the table, and hence you will not have issues with this charger.
