Xiaomi Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S
A screw punctured my tire last week, and because I did not drive the car for a few days, the tire pressure dropped to 90 kPa.
Since the car tire pressure sensor only kicks in after a while, we realized this after driving out onto the main road. Luckily, our tires are run-flat, so it is relatively safe to drive to the nearest petrol station and fill it back up to 220 kPa.
Today I Learned (TIL) that the petrol station air pump has an option for flat tires because the usual way will not work since the air will keep leaking. Pressing the flat tire button pumps it up to 220 kPa, and I can’t go beyond that.
I drove home after that. Most tire shops are closed since it is close to 8 pm, so I can only Google for those on-site tire patching. So I just decided to choose the closest one to me, which is The Tyre Shop SG. They came within 30 minutes and got the tire patched within 10 minutes. I paid S$80 for the convenience cost and S$10 for the actual patching work. It is expensive, but not that I have much choice as I want to get it over and done with.
As an excuse for the convenience in pumping air into your tire, I decided to get the Xiaomi Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S. I bought it on Shopee for S$44.90 and domestic shipping is an additional S$1.49.
Xiaomi Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S supports inflating tires of bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and balls. The inflation pressure range supported is 0.2 – 10.3 bar / 3 – 150 psi.
A LED light is located just below the PET logo at the top. So you can even use it in the dark. I think this is a thoughtful feature.
The battery has a capacity of 2,000 mAh, and charging is done by the USB-C port. A full charge takes about 3 hours, and it is enough to inflate all four tires of your car.
By default, it is attached with the Schrader valve, which is mainly used for cars, motorcycles, e-bikes, and most mountain bikes.
A Presta valve adapter is also included, used primarily for bicycles.
For balls, you need to use the included Needle valve adapter.

There are five buttons on the Xiaomi Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S.
Left is the LED light on/off button. Right is the mode button to toggle between manual, bicycle, motorcycle, car, or ball.
The top and Bottom button is to increase or decrease the inflation pressure. The middle button is to start or stop the inflation process.
