Logitech MX Master 3S Wireless Mouse
It so happens that the scroll wheel of my five years old Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse spoiled just a few days before one of the greatest sale day, the Singles Day (11/11).
Technically, it is not spoiled, but the scroll wheel is forever in free-spinning mode, aka the clicky/ratcheting is not working when the SmartShift button is being pressed. There is an article on how to fix it, but it seems the fix is not permanent. It will come back within a month, probably due to the spring being loose due to its age. You will need to tear the mouse’s feet to access the screws every time you fix it.
So I decided to suck it up, find an excuse to get the new Logitech MX Master 3S Wireless Mouse during 11/11.
I bought the Logitech MX Master 3S Wireless Mouse from Logitech’s official store on Lazada. The usual retail price is S$169, but on 11/11, after all the discounts, I paid S$111 for it. That is even cheaper than my Logitech MX Master 3, which I got two years ago.
Because of the sensor upgrade, MX Master 3S now comes with a Logi Bolt USB receiver instead of the Unifying Receiver.
Regarding design, Logitech MX Master 3S is the same as Logitech MX Master 3. The only two differences are internal. The first is the DPI sensor upgrade, from 4,000 DPI on the MX Master 3 to 8,000 DPI on the MX Master 3S. The second is MX Master 3S has much quieter clicks than MX Master 3. It is very noticeable, and I still prefer the noisier clicks on the MX Master 3 because it feels more tactile.
Besides Graphite, the Logitech MX Master 3S is available in Pale Grey. Whereas Logitech MX Master 3 is available in Graphite and Mid Grey.
This is my fourth Logitech MX Master wireless mouse. I have the MX Master, MX Master 2S, MX Master 3, and MX Master 3S. For some reason, MX Master 2 is not officially available in Singapore.
