In Singapore, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be launching on Friday, 18th September 2026.
With regards to 5G/LTE networks in Singapore, we are getting the following models:
- iPhone 18 Pro: A3714
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: A3717
Looks like Apple is splitting its iPhone release cycle into two. The September cycle will be for premium iPhones like the Pro, Pro Max, and Duo, while March will be for regular iPhones like the base iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and even the iPhone Air 2.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max come in four colors: Black, Burgundy, Glacier, and Silver. Cosmic Orange lasted exactly one year, which is a pity, because that is the color of my current iPhone 17 Pro Max. Burgundy looks like the flagship color this time round.
Both models are on the A20 Pro chip, with a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU, and dual 16-core Neural Engines. The 48MP Pro Fusion camera system is the bigger change: all three rear cameras are now 48MP, and the main camera offers variable apertures at f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4.0. Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro Max at up to 43 hours of video playback.
Storage now goes all the way up to 2TB, whereas last year only the iPhone 17 Pro Max offered 2TB.
Prices went up across the board. On the iPhone 18 Pro, 256GB and 512GB are S$150 more than the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro models, and 1TB is S$450 more. On iPhone 18 Pro Max, 256GB and 512GB are S$200 more, 1TB is S$500 more, and 2TB is S$800 more.
For the first time in 18 years, I am not going to perform my yearly iPhone upgrade ritual, since there are not many changes compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. I am still on the iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB that I recontracted with Singtel last year. The camera improvements don’t appeal to me as a regular user. I shall wait for the rumored 20th-anniversary iPhone.
