*UPDATE* You can get the Jawbone UP from Apple Store (Singapore) as well but the waiting time is 8-10 weeks!
Jawbone UP finally came to Singapore! I am not too sure the exact date it goes on sale. It was announced back in late March 2013 and I saw it selling in Challenger (Funan) on 10th April 2013. I bought it on 14th April 2013 after contemplating it for 4 days.
The official retail price is S$189.90. So far, I only saw it being sold at Challenger (Funan), EpiCentre and infinite stores. I think give it some time and it will be selling at all Challenger branches.
I totally recommend getting it from Challenger, because if you are a member, you will get 10% discount and hence after the discount, it only cost you S$170.91, which is the cheapest price you can get in Singapore.
Many people are comparing the Jawbone UP with the Nike+ FuelBand, let me tabulate some of the difference down (feel free to add on to it by suggesting it in the comments):
| Nike+ FuelBand | Jawbone UP |
|---|---|
|
|
| Has a 20-color LED display to display your progress and a 100-white LED display to display information and tells the time | Only has two LED display to let you know whether it is monitoring your movement or sleep |
| Sync wirelessly via Bluetooth | Sync via the 3.5mm audio jack |
| Charges via standard USB port | Charges via a proprietary cable (from 3.5mm audio jack to USB) |
| Requires a computer (Windows/Mac) to setup | Can only be setup using your mobile phone (iPhone/Android) |
| Will not have an Android app anytime soon | Has an Android App |
|

One thing I really like about Jawbone UP is the really well designed and gorgeous UI on the iOS app, the Nike+ FuelBand iOS app is pale in comparison. I did not use it to keep track of my food intake because the choices of food is limited and I could not find any local (Singapore) food in it.

Nice post, lester, hows everyone?
I want one too. I am using fitbit and Striiv right now.
Hey Jen! Which Fitbit model you using? Is it the Flex?
Lots of staff changes, Ronald has left, Tim and Ali last day is on Wed!
Hi, came across your review while searching for UP. Noticed that you have both UP and Nike+Fuel bands, which would u prefer and recommend??
I prefer Jawbone. It tracks sleep on top of step counter. The materials used to build the UP is also lighter and more flexible
How many colors did you see at Challenger? 😀
two, cyan and black only
I Bought it at Somerset 313 Epilife With Member 15% discount
Wow, that is quite a lot!
How it detect your sleep and wake up? Do you need to press something?
You have to press the button located on the opposite end of the cap to toggle between the mode
hi just wanna ask do they sell only the usb charging cable???cause i lost mine 🙁
I have not seen them selling just the cable actually.
Hello Lester, How can I convince my fiancee I want (need) one?
You don’t :p, buy first talk later!
Hey Lester, I was trying to compare UP with fuelband, fitbit flex, then came across your blog. Thanks for the post, and I’m gonna check UP in challenger. Surprisingly I noticed having used your WP plugin for quite some time. You really did a good job on web design. Currently I’m IS student in NUS, mainly focusing on theoretical stuffs while programming less. Seems can learn a lot on your site 🙂
Thank you for the compliments =) My brother is also in NUS IS 3rd year.
It seems that UP right now is having a stock shortage ast least for challenger, I only see L and S size around certain stores.
I will be testing Fitbit Flex soon, and I will do a comparions with 3 of them =)
Hi Lester, is it selling at all EpicCentre branches? i went to challenger@funan, out of stock now 🙁
Yeap it is, but I am not too sure of the stock level. For challenger, I saw a couple of S sizes at VivoCity branch last week
Hi Lester,
May I check if you’re still loving the Jawbone UP?
Also, I can’t seem to find them in SG
Yea, I still love it. I saw it at most Apple authorised resellers like NuBox or EpiCenter.
Do you know if the UP 24 is sold in SG yet? Amazon’s doesnt ship to SG.
Nope, it is not yet in SG, ship to freight forwarded like HopShopGo, then ship to SG
saw at the airport selling at SGD232.71
Nice, the UP 24 is out!
