Mediacorp is transmitting all free-to-air channels in digital format since December 2013 under the DVB-T2 television standard.
By the end of 2017 existing analogue TV signals will stop broadcasting.
For more information, check out MediaCorp is going fully digital.
This means that you will not be able to receive any TV channel via the traditional SCV Coaxial Point.
If you are a StarHub TV or SingTel mio TV subscriber, there is nothing much to do.
If you are a regular user with an older television that doesn’t support DVB-T2, you need buy an UHF indoor antenna and a DVB-T2 digital set-top box and connect them to your existing TV set to watch digital TV over-the-air.
If you are a regular user with a newer television that supports DVB-T2, you just need the UHF indoor antenna.
As I just bought my Samsung Series 5 55″ SUHD Smart LED TV, it supports DVB-T2 and I just need to buy an UHF indoor antenna.
In Singapore, UHF indoor antennas are often out of stock and it is slightly more expensive than some models on Amazon.
I chose the AmazonBasics Ultra Thin Indoor TV Antenna (35 Mile Range) from Amazon which is retailing for US$17.98 (S$25).
It also ships to Singapore for free via the AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping if your qualified orders are above US$125. Not forgetting, it is also made in USA.
You will need a F Jack to TV adapter in order to plug it into your television RF In port. Daiyo is selling it for S$2.70 online excluding shipping while Challenger is selling it for S$3.90.

I dont understand why do you need this antenna. Can’t you plug the cable into your the cable port (on your wall)?
The cable point is transmitting analog. The digital signal is FTA and via TVb setup boxes.
I am alittle confused but I will google it. Looks like I will need this in my new home too…?
Yeap.
Interesting to note that future TV will not need the analog cable point. Instead, will be “wireless”.
Yeap it is OTA unless you are using MioTV or StarHub TV. Then the setup box from them is ok
How is the reception?
Very good. It really depends on your area. According to Mediacorp Digital TV broadcast rollout map at , all except three areas should have good reception.
