Height Variance
Height variance gives the illusion of cities’ skylines, but the highest height variance possible is about 5mm. Anything more than that will cast shadows, and your camera might be unable to scan the QR code even after the error correction.

You don’t need the height variance if you intend to stick it on the wall.

1mm No Height Variance
This variant is suitable if you intend to paste it on a wall via tape or magnets. Your visitors will scan the QR code when it is up on the wall.

1mm To 5mm Height Variance
If you intend to place this on a table, I recommend this variant because when it is passed around for your visitors to scan, they will likely be wowed by it.

1mm To 3mm Height Variance
This variant will cast fewer shadows than the 5mm since it has lesser height variance.

My Thoughts
I prefer the 1mm to 5mm height variance since I will place it on the table. However, Li Xiang likes the 1mm to 3mm higher variance due to the shadows cast.

But if you intend to stick it on the wall, you will not have this dilemma. You can get the 1mm no height variance.
