Ugreen NVMe M.2 SSD USB-C Case
There are two product variants of the Ugreen NVMe M.2 SSD Case on Lazada.
The first variant comes with two cables, a 50cm USB-C to USB-C cable, and a 50cm USB-A to USB-C Cable. It retails for S$31 on Lazada.
The second variant comes only with a 50cm USB-C to USB-C cable and it retails for S$28.90 on Lazada
The Ugreen NVMe M.2 SSD USB-C Case feels solid and premium with its space grey aluminum enclosure.
Setup is easy without the need for any tools.
Press the bottom of the inner plastic case, and the inner case will pop-up, allowing you to slide out the inner case from the aluminum enclosure.
When the inner case is out, remove the fixing clip and slide in the NVMe M.2 SSD.
Once that is done, install back the fixing clip.
I will be using this case for my Kioxia Exceria 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD. In theory, I will get a read speed of 1,700 MB/s, and a write speed is 1,600 MB/s.
However, the max theoretical speed of USB 3.2 Gen 2 is 10Gbps (1,250 MB/s), so regardless of how fast your NVMe SSD is, it will be always be limited by the USB transfer speed.
An alternative is to use an NVMe M.2 Thunderbolt 3 SSD case, which is probably two to three times more expensive, but it can deliver up to 40Gbs (5,000 MB/s).
